LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 13th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.167/187.76, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.180/187.81, Now #14; No Prior Run

12:09 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 23 percent, barometer 28.05 inches, adjusted altitude 3,744 feet.

Phillips makes a decent pass to get in the show for now. Harris makes his quickest pass of the weekend to get in for now.


Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.042/189.50, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.281/179.64, Now #16; No Prior Run

Smith makes a decent pass and gets in the show for now. Whitaker slows from his earlier attempt yesterday and gets on the bump for now.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.158/187.21, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.022/187.68, Was #12
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.042/190.03, Now #13; No Prior Run

Hines doesn't improve and stays in the 12th spot for now. Sullivan makes her quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show in the 13th spot.

Left Lane: James Surber Runs 7.315/182.95, Now #19; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Chaz Kennedy Runs 6.983/189.52, Now #4; No Prior Run

Kennedy makes a career est pass and gets all the way to the fourth spot. Surber slows from his earlier attempt yesterday and doesn't get in the field.

Left Lane: Rhett Lougheed No Time, Now #24; No Prior Run
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.982/190.06, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.987/191.19, Was #5

Lougheed gets out of the groove and crosses the centerline a little before half track. Hall improves a little and moves up a spot to fourth.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.117/188.12, Now #17; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.109/190.97, Now #16; No Prior Run

Camarena improves from yesterday but doesn't get in the show. Underdahl slows a little from yesterday but is able to get in on the bump for now.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.127/185.46, Now #18; No Prior Run
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.022/190.67, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.021/191.57, Was #12

Berry can't improve and doesn't get in the field. Tonglet doesn't improve but is already in the show in the 12th spot for now.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.984/191.59, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.013/190.43, Was #10
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.577/134.12, Now #23; No Prior Run

Pollacheck gets into the sixes and moves into the top half of the field. Gann slows and still isn't in the show.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.957/193.02, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.010/192.38, Was #10
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.979/191.65, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.003/190.59, Was #9

Smith makes his first pass in the sixes this weekend and moves all the way to the second spot for now. Savoie makes his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the top half of the field for now.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.032/188.75, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.016/188.83, Was #11
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.945/191.92, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.998/190.89, Was #10

Krawiec doesn't improve and stays in the 11th spot. Johnson makes an impressive run and moves all the way to the top for now.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 9.115/89.82, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.971/192.30, Was #5
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.955/193.07, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.990/192.96, Was #10

Ray has problems and is off the throttle early. Arana makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up to the third spot for now.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.960/193.18, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.946/192.71, Was #2
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.967/191.35, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.965/190.89, Was #5

Adam Arana slows from his earlier attempt and can't re-take the pole. Arana Jr. doesn't improve and will stay in the fifth spot.
