Tutterow Takes Qualifying Lead In NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series

At NHRA Toyota Nationals
Todd Tutterow raced to the qualifying lead Friday in the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of
the NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race is the final event in
2013 for NHRA's popular 250-mph doorslammer touring series.
Driving his turbocharged Ford Mustang, Tutterow, who is looking for his first No. 1 qualifying
position, put together an impressive run of 5.876 seconds at 250.69 mph.
Danny Rowe and his supercharged Agave Underground Tequila Chevy Camaro went to the No. 2 spot,
running 5.973 at 242.63. Mike Janis currently sits in the third position with a 5.989 at 241.54 in
Points leader Rickie Smith, who has already clinched his first NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series
championship, drove his nitrous-injected IDG Camaro to the eighth spot by going 6.019 at 238.51.
Qualifying continues Saturday at 2:15 p.m. and NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series eliminations start
later that day at approximately 4:30 p.m.
