Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 13th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 20.975/28.50, Now #20; Best prior run: 13.806/102.18, Was #20

Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 27.91 inches, adjusted altitude 4,617 feet.

Kramer shook hard right at the hit and pushed in the clutch.


Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 7.298/148.87, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.805/205.04, Was #18
Right Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.828/204.39, Now #19; No Prior Run

Johnson with shake early and clicked it off. Kent with problems early...

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.728/206.01, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.716/205.79, Was #13
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.721/203.92, Now #15; Best prior run: 9.206/100.25, Was #20

No help here for Hartman and he will start over tomorrow. Morgan makes a move in the right direction, but will start over tomorrow. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-1.017 sec., 330ft-2.826, 660ft-4.335/163.02 mph, 1,000ft-5.634.
Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-1.006 sec., 330ft-2.808, 660ft-4.317/163.10 mph, 1,000ft-5.619.

Left Lane: Buddy Perkinson Runs 6.702/206.57, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.709/206.86, Was #11
Right Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.797/203.71, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.791/204.11, Was #18

Perkinson improves on his earlier run, but stay in the number 11 spot. Carr slows from earlier and he will start over tomorrow.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.725/204.20, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.701/205.22, Was #10
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.927/204.32, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.745/205.57, Was #17

No help here for Stanfield and he will stay in the number ten spot. Johnson was real lose right at the hit and made a move toward the wall. He reeled it in, but will start from scratch tomorrow.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.674/207.15, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.678/207.18, Was #8
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.770/204.54, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.733/204.76, Was #16

Anderson with the quickest pass of the round and moved up the spot on the ladder. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.801, 660ft-4.295/164.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.586. No help for McGaha and he start over tomorrow.

Left Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.665/207.05, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.677/208.07, Was #8
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.683/207.02, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.717/207.88, Was #14

Jones with the quickest pass of the session and he moves up the ladder one spot. Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.792, 660ft-4.287/164.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.577. Gaines makes a move in right direction, the third quickest pass of the session to go to the number nine spot. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.807, 660ft-4.306/164.45 mph, 1,000ft-5.595.

Left Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.666/206.99, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.665/207.24, Was #6
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.708/206.01, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.714/206.39, Was #13

Enders-Stevens with another good looking pass, but will not improve. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.796, 660ft-4.288/164.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.577. Brogdon improves on his earlier pass, but won't get in the show.

Left Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.663/207.24, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.663/207.30, Was #5
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.666/205.29, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.696/207.98, Was #10

Nobile with another good pass, matching his E.T. from earlier today. He will stay in the number five spot. Nobile with the quickest pass of the session. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.793, 660ft-4.289/164.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.577. Gray with his quickest pass of the day and he moves up the ladder two spots. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-4.283/164.47 mph, 1,000ft-5.574.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.655/207.11, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.658/206.92, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.657/207.34, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.658/207.34, Was #3

This was a great side-by-side drag race with the two quickest passes of the session. Coughlin goes to the number two spot and Edwards to the number three spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.785, 660ft-4.280/164.37 mph, 1,000ft-5.568.
Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.789, 660ft-4.285/164.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.572.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.673/207.18, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.658/207.37, Was #4
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.651/206.99, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.654/207.46, Was #1

No help here for Line and he will stay in the number four spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.798, 660ft-4.296/164.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.585. Johnson launched hard and runs the quickest pass of the weekend to improve on his number one spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.779, 660ft-4.274/164.51 mph, 1,000ft-5.563.
