Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #2

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 13th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.111/189.42, Now #13; No Prior Run

4:09 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 27.91 inches, adjusted altitude 4,617 feet.

Sullivan makes a clean pass but can't get into the top twelve.


Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.089/190.67, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.501/178.35, Was #22

Underdahl was drifting to the left all the way through the run but improves on his first attempt.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.946/192.71, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.271/188.04, Was #19
Right Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.228/184.17, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.348/182.26, Was #22

No problems for Arana on this pass and he goes all the way to the top. Whitaker improves but not enough to get in the field.

Left Lane: James Surber Runs 7.254/185.92, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.252/182.28, Was #20
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.990/192.96, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.322/150.35, Was #22

Arana goes right down the groove and gets into the sixes. No help for Surber.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.183/188.04, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.197/188.33, Was #19
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.245/186.07, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.311/184.52, Was #22

Camarena improves a little but stays in the 19th spot. Harris improves but is still well behind the quicker bikes.

Left Lane: Rhett Lougheed Runs 7.198/185.82, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.162/187.44, Was #17
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.998/190.89, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.180/191.08, Was #18

Lougheed drifts to the left all the way through the run and gets very close to the wall after he crosses the finish line. Johnson improves and gets in the field in the fifth spot for now.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.123/185.46, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.058/187.89, Was #15
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.038/189.66, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.030/190.94, Was #14

Berry and Gann makes clean passes but both slow from their earlier attempts.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.022/187.68, Was #12
Right Lane: Chaz Kennedy Runs 7.098/189.63, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.025/189.44, Was #13

Hines stages but rolls back out of the beam as the tree begins to come down.. Kennedy slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.017/188.33, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.016/188.83, Was #10
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.040/190.54, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.021/191.57, Was #11

No improvement for either driver in this pair.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.075/188.65, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.013/190.43, Was #8
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.965/190.89, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.015/190.94, Was #9

Arana makes his quickest pass of the day and moves to the second spot for now. Pollacheck slows and drops a spot as Arana goes around him in the order.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.021/191.97, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.010/192.38, Was #8
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 7.031/190.30, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.003/190.59, Was #7

Both drivers slow from their earlier attempts.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.987/191.08, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.971/192.30, Was #3
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 7.094/190.06, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.987/191.19, Was #4

Ray makes a good pass but doesn't improve. Hall slows from his earlier attempt and stays in the fourth spot.
