HEBRON, Ohio -- The 2013 season of the Buckeye Stock/SuperStock Drag Racing Series came to a conclusion this past weekend Oct. 5th at National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio.

The runoff to detirmine the Champion for the 2013 season was the first order of business. After two time trials, racers were laddered up off of reaction times. Sixteen competitors, made up of racers that either won or runner upped at an event or was seeded in based off of their points finish made the call. There were subsittutions because a couple racers could not attend or were broke.

Picking up the action in round two, first pair was 17 year old Ryan Rudrick and Jeff Ross with Ross winning the double breakout affair.P.J. Fouts better light closed the door for Michigans Mike Warren, Zac Ross took a narrow win over George Antribous and Doug Sloan bowed out to John Buhler.

Round three J. Ross took a small holeshot lead over the L/SA Olds of Fouts and Zac Ross' Avenger lost a squeaker to Buhler.

The final round there were two Mopars, Buhler's '64 Hemi Coronet and the '72 Cuda F/SA of Jeff Ross. Both staged up and Ross left first. Just as the final at Quaker City, the race was won off of a red light start as this time the tables were turned and the win went to Jeff Ross.

The S/SS Combo was next and the winner of the dial for dollars presented by Mid Ohio Paving was Ryan Rudrick in his P/SA 70 Duster runing a 13.033 on his 13.03 dial in. The best wining first round package, sponsored by Parsons and Myers Racing Engines. was won by the new champ, Ross, driving his familiar Cuda. Both men picked up $100.

After four rounds of racing of total 35 entries, a couple of rain delays, and one more shower at 1:20AM the final three remaining drivers split the money. Those remaining were Fred Burkhart driving an awsome '70 Hemi Cuda,Thomas Patete wheeling his '69 Camaro SS/DA and youngster Rudrick and the family P/SA Duster. The coveted Iron Man was awarded by virtue of flipping coins. Ryan Rudrick had the odd coin and was awarded the Iron Man Trophy.

Much thanks to Mike Fornutaro and Chris Stilwell at National Trail as they were commited to finishing the race day even if took until 2:00 AM if necessary.

This wraps up the 2013 season. The Buckeye Stock/SuperStock Drag Racing Series, Nitro Joe Jackson, and myself would like to thank every racer that raced with us weather it was once or all the races that made the season successful. 2014 is around the corner, we'll see you next year .
