Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by NAPA Auto Parts listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 6.454/222.99, Now #22; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 42 percent, barometer 29.35 inches, adjusted altitude 2,768 feet, track temperature 119 degrees.

Tutterow started to shake and pedaled it and then was trailing a lot of smoke, but the word from the top end is the track is clean. He will not get in the show.


Left Lane: Pat Stoken Runs 6.181/217.00, Now #20; Best prior run: 19.508/27.63, Was #26

Stoken with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 9.801/105.41, Now #26; Best prior run: 11.883/71.57, Was #26
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.380/219.15, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.427/217.74, Was #22

King continues to struggle and he will not get in the show. Satterfield with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 6.263/234.98, Now #22; Best prior run: 9.333/98.95, Was #25
Right Lane: Dan Stevenson Runs 6.005/242.63, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.344/236.09, Was #21

Rivenbark started to shake and pedaled it and made his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show. Stevenson is straight down the groove and in the show with his quickest pass of the weekend. Dan Stevenson's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.675, 660ft-3.976/191.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.078.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.979/238.13, Now #25; Best prior run: 8.574/140.77, Was #25
Right Lane: Harold Martin Runs 6.973/167.18, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.086/234.41, Was #19

Matusek started to shake and pedaled it, he runs his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show. Martin shook and pedaled it and he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 6.141/226.77, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.145/228.27, Was #20
Right Lane: Craig Cawte Runs 6.003/238.76, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.056/236.75, Was #17

Juliano with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show. Cawte launches and gets it to hook up and runs his career quickest and fastest pass to get in the show. Craig Cawte's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.645, 660ft-3.947/190.86 mph, 1,000ft-5.061. That bumps out Fiscus and puts Eric Latino on the bump spot at 6.031.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 9.727/100.89, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.057/244.34, Was #18
Right Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 6.033/241.45, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.028/239.87, Was #15

Coughlin with a lot of tire shake and he will not get in the show. Flamholc with another good pass, but will not improve and stays in the number 15 spot for now. Adam Flamholc's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.668, 660ft-3.985/190.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.099.

Left Lane: Kevin Fiscus Runs 6.142/243.77, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.045/246.21, Was #17
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 6.030/241.63, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.017/240.29, Was #14

Fiscus who just got bumped out slows from his time from yesterday and he will not get back into the show. Lang with another good pass, but will not improve and stays in the number 14 spot. Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.672, 660ft-3.980/190.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.095.

Left Lane: Eric Latino Runs 6.617/238.26, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.031/222.18, Was #16
Right Lane: Kevin McCurdy Runs 6.023/241.11, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.005/239.27, Was #13

Latino drives through a lot of tire shake and will not get off the bump. McCurdy with another good pass, but will not improve. Kevin McCurdy's incremental times: 60ft-1.037 sec., 330ft-2.680, 660ft-3.980/191.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.089.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.946/243.99, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.977/243.63, Was #7
Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 12.446/76.72, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.000/242.41, Was #10

Janis launched hard and keeps it hooked up to run the quickest pass of the session. He moves up the ladder one spot. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.025 sec., 330ft-2.658, 660ft-3.936/194.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.027. Farber with a lot of tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Brad Personett Runs 8.976/115.72, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.947/249.76, Was #7
Right Lane: David Hance Runs 5.973/246.08, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.999/242.71, Was #9

Personett with shake and shuts it off. Hance launches hard and keeps it hooked up to run his career quickest pass and move into the top half of the show. David Hance's incremental times: 60ft-1.038 sec., 330ft-2.711, 660ft-3.978/196.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.059.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 9.765/84.66, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.937/240.89, Was #5
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 9.385/98.12, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.984/243.15, Was #9

Smith with tire shake and clicked it off. Knowles was real loose right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jim Laurita Runs 10.390/85.68, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.897/243.15, Was #3
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.998/240.17, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.921/239.95, Was #4

Laurita is real loose right at the hit and clicks it off. Castellana was straight down the groove with the third quickest pass of the round. He will not improve and stays in the number four spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.661, 660ft-3.957/191.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.062.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 18.881/25.51, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.871/246.80, Was #1
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.260/168.24, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.888/243.55, Was #2

Rowe spun hard right at the hit and clicked it off. Smith had the chutes out real early. that wraps up Pro Mod qualifying. Rowe holds on to the number one spot for the fourth time this year and the seventh time in his career.
