BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, South Central Division, NHRA Texas Sportsman Shootout listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Duane Robison Runs 7.435/185.08/-0.455, Now #8; C/A Index: 7.89, Prior Best: 7.491/182.16/-0.399, Was #9
Right Lane: Scott Cashio Runs 8.538/158.11/-0.442, Now #9; D/SMA Index: 8.98, Prior Best: 8.617/158.41/-0.363, Was #11

Marin made his first pass and put himself right in the middle of the field (18 cars). That moved Hickey down a rung on the ladder.

Smiley slowed before half track.

Neff slowed a bit, Mawhee improved a bit, nothing changed on the ladder.

The six-bangers came out side-by-side. Self almost duplicated his previous best. Rosen's dragster came off the line and slowed immediately.

Right Lane: Donald Thomas Runs 7.423/160.71/-0.407, Now #4; C/ED Index: 7.83, Prior Best: 7.259/182.21/-0.571, Was #4

Kent got close to .50 under on his first full pass of the event. Thomas' run looked okay, but he was much slower than yesterday.

Right Lane: Charlie Stewart Runs 8.730/96.54/0.480, Now #17; J/D Index: 8.25, Prior Best: 8.352/114.66/0.102, Was #17

Stewart is still struggling, making his slowest run of the event.
