Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Final Session

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 59th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.247/184.88, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.145/187.05, Was #20
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.305/182.11, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.292/183.44, Was #23

2:46 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 63 percent, barometer 28.87 inches, adjusted altitude 3,773 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

Hector Arana is number one with a 6.938 and Adam Arana is on the bump spot at 7.025. Last chance to qualify and the conditions are not as good as the morning session.

Two clean passes, but both bikes slower than earlier today.

Freddie Camarena's incremental times: 60ft-1.115 sec., 330ft-2.992, 660ft-4.616/150.53 mph, 1,000ft-6.034.
Redell Harris' incremental times: 60ft-1.123 sec., 330ft-3.013, 660ft-4.648/149.70 mph, 1,000ft-6.077.


Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.089/189.71, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.055/190.35, Was #19
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.216/183.94, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.231/184.83, Was #22

DeSantis had the bike move out towards the wall and can only pick up a little ET. It's not good enough to move him up more than one position.

Jim Underdahl's incremental times: 60ft-1.100 sec., 330ft-2.938, 660ft-4.522/154.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.908.
Joe DeSantis' incremental times: 60ft-1.142 sec., 330ft-2.993, 660ft-4.596/152.42 mph, 1,000ft-6.004.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.062/189.23, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.042/190.08, Was #18
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.059/188.07, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.033/189.50, Was #17

It's tough out there and neither bike can improve on a strong pass.

Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.085 sec., 330ft-2.930, 660ft-4.505/155.20 mph, 1,000ft-5.881.
Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.088 sec., 330ft-2.920, 660ft-4.492/155.22 mph, 1,000ft-5.871.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 7.054/191.40, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.025/188.31, Was #16
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 7.023/189.84, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.022/189.73, Was #15

Hall makes a clean pass again and still lose 0.001 from his best.

Arana is still looking for a big number, but will stay #16.

Adam Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.106 sec., 330ft-2.953, 660ft-4.518/156.48 mph, 1,000ft-5.883.
John Hall's incremental times: 60ft-1.059 sec., 330ft-2.889, 660ft-4.466/154.81 mph, 1,000ft-5.843.

Left Lane: Dawn Minturn Runs 7.027/190.08, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.012/187.39, Was #14
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.052/187.78, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.008/190.78, Was #13

The pattern continues, with both bikes slowing.

Dawn Minturn's incremental times: 60ft-1.082 sec., 330ft-2.914, 660ft-4.480/156.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.849.
Mike Berry's incremental times: 60ft-1.072 sec., 330ft-2.902, 660ft-4.478/154.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.862.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.034/192.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.991/191.43, Was #10
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.040/189.76, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.007/190.51, Was #12

Johnson runs his best speed of the weekend to stay #10.

Gann can't match the pace and will not improve.

Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.097 sec., 330ft-2.929, 660ft-4.499/155.85 mph, 1,000ft-5.867.
Shawn Gann's incremental times: 60ft-1.086 sec., 330ft-2.915, 660ft-4.487/155.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.861.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.016/191.48, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.989/193.49, Was #9
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.116/189.55, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.999/191.76, Was #11

Smith makes the best pass of the session and doesn't improve.

Treble loses even more ET and speed.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.079 sec., 330ft-2.907, 660ft-4.477/155.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.845.
Craig Treble's incremental times: 60ft-1.110 sec., 330ft-2.962, 660ft-4.550/154.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.934.

Ray has one of the best 60 foot times of the session and can't improve.

Arana shows his power again and runs the only six second pass of the session to wrap up the day for PSB.

Krawiec makes a clean and straight pass to stay #2.
