Left Lane: Dave River Runs 16.292/36.90, Now #13; No Prior Run
11:37 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 68 percent, barometer 28.89 inches, adjusted altitude 3,339 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.
The top twelve from yesterday kept their times, the rest are starting over. That may not be a big deal because the alcohol cars and the Pro Stock Motorcycles have stepped up their performance level in today's conditions, so the four-wheelers should follow suit.
River had problems on the burnout, but apparently didn't break
anything because he restarted the engine and staged the car. He came off the line, the car danced back and forth, and he lifted.

Both drivers stepped up from their best prior runs (McGaha didn't have a full pass in the first two sessions) and they are in the field for now. Won't know how good those runs were until we get into the already-qualified entries.
Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.721/205.91, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.716/207.24, Now #15; No Prior Run
lean runs until after the finish line. Then Hartford's chutes did not deploy properly and he had to get on the brakes hard to get it stopped. KJ lost ground, had a 6.716 yesterday that he didn't get to keep.
Left Lane: Lewis Worden Runs 6.724/205.26, Now #17; No Prior Run
Right Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 6.895/199.58, Now #18; No Prior Run
Worden made his best run of the event, did not make the field. Gaydosh picked up almost a tenth from yesterday, also came up short.
Matt Hartford is on the bump spot at 6.721.
Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.689/206.39, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.714/205.22, Was #14
Right Lane: Paul Pittman Runs 6.781/203.92, Now #18; No Prior Run
Nice run for Stanfield to move up several spots on the ladder. Pittman made his best run of the event, came up short.
Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.689/206.39, Now #9; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.710/206.35, Now #14; No Prior Run
Both drivers made their best run of the event and both moved into the field, bumping Hartford and Kurt Johnson.
Now Larry Morgan is on the bump spot at 6.712.
Left Lane: Curt Steinbach Runs 6.661/205.98, Now #2; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.676/206.76, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.712/205.88, Was #16
Steinbach was the last car in the lanes with a chance to bump into the field and the driver he was trying to bump out was in the lane next to him.
Both drivers stepped way up from yesterday and both got way into the field, Steinbach all the way up to second. Steinbach also will need new front tires because his chutes did not deploy and he was smoking the tires hard to get stopped.
That bumped Mark Martino from the field and Steve Kent is on the bump spot at 6.710.

Both drivers made strong runs and Martino bumped back into the field, putting Kent back on the outside. There are three 6.661 ETs in the field and Martino has the best speed of the three.

Coughlin matched gaines' ET, but is now #2 on speed. Nobile also stepped up, but stayed in the bottom half.

Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.646/207.50, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.661/207.02, Was #6
These two started this session at the top of the qualifying list, fell all the way to sixth and eighth while waiting for their third shot at the track.Both improved, but Gray leapfrogged over AJ on the list, keeping Johnson in the sixth spot.

Last pair, starting the session third and sixth. By the time they reached the head of the staging lanes, they were both in the bottom half of the field.
