3:57 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 28.68 inches, adjusted altitude 3,695 feet, track temperature 111 degrees.

Points-leader Hagan has 9 wins and 12 losses in 21 prior final rounds, with 4 wins and 2 losses this year.

Second-place Capps has 40 wins and 41 losses in prior final rounds and he has 2 wins and 2 losses so far this year.

Capps is 14-6 against Hagan in prior events, 2-0 in final rounds, with the last final round matchup coming at Phoenix this year.

Coming into this final round, Hagan leads Capps by 144 points. He hasn't "clinched," but it is highly unlikely Capps will be able to get by him in points here and at Indy.

Hagan led for about 600 feet, then Capps stuck his nose out in front and kept it there. That cuts Hagan's lead to 124 points, but he would have to stop earning points for Capps to catch him at Indy.

Ron Capps' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.016), 330 ft(-0.007), 660ft(0.001). MOV: 0.0013 seconds (approximately 7 inches).
