Top Alcohol Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Final Session
By Jim Samuel

RISING SUN, Md. - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northeast Division, event at Cecil County Dragway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: John Anderika Runs 5.870/248.75, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.987/108.25, Was #5

8:02 p.m. Anderika drifted out of the groove and made a move toward the wall. He pedaled it and got the car straightened out to finish the run and move up in the order.

Left Lane: Marie Ferriolo Runs 6.181/221.34, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.655/176.88, Was #5
Right Lane: Dan Pomponio Runs 5.752/255.24, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.770/254.62, Was #3

Both drivers were quicker than the first session and neither moved in the order.

Left Lane: Todd Veney Runs 5.629/256.41, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.662/256.31, Was #1

Veney shaved some time off his first session ET but since he was already in the top spot in the order, last year's winner had nowhere to go in the order. That's it for TAFC qualifying.
