Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 32nd annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 9.825/98.65, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.814/203.49, Was #17
Right Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.676/207.50, Now #14; Best prior run: 8.211/119.17, Was #18

Hogan bogged off the starting line and clicked it off. Kent made a move in the right direction, but not enough to get in the show.

Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 13.902/61.62, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.696/206.70, Was #15
Right Lane: Dave River No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.801/203.19, Was #17

River is shut off on the starting line. The word from the starting line as the crew forgot to turn on the air bottle. Kramer with violent tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.630/208.39, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.651/207.72, Was #13
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.670/207.21, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.699/206.95, Was #16

McGaha improves, but not enough to get in the show. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-1.013 sec., 330ft-2.803, 660ft-4.297/164.89 mph, 1,000ft-5.585. Morgan with a nice pass to get into the show. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.777, 660ft-4.266/165.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.549.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.645/207.11, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.645/207.40, Was #13
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.634/208.59, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.645/208.36, Was #12

Stanfield matched his run from earlier today, but will not get in the show and will start over tomorrow. Brogdon with a good looking pass to get off the bump spot. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.783, 660ft-4.271/165.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.554.

Left Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.618/208.65, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.631/207.82, Was #10
Right Lane: Mark Martino Runs 6.613/208.59, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.643/208.42, Was #12

These two were side-by-side all the way down the track. Martino goes to the number eight spot. Mark Martino's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.771, 660ft-4.257/165.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.535. enders-Stevens was right there with him to go to the number nine spot. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.792, 660ft-4.261/172.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.538.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.615/208.88, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.610/209.30, Was #5
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.603/209.62, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.628/209.17, Was #10

Gray with another good pass, but will not improve...Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.259/166.48 mph, 1,000ft-5.537. Line with a great looking pass as Line runs the quickest pass of the round to go to the number three spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.766, 660ft-4.250/166.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.527.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.624/208.62, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.605/208.81, Was #4
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.580/209.43, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.613/208.62, Was #8

Coughlin with another good pass, but will not improve. Nobile launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.755, 660ft-4.232/166.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.505.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.609/209.17, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.600/209.01, Was #3
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.595/209.43, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.613/209.46, Was #8

Johnson with a great pass, the second quickest of the round to go to the number three spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.770, 660ft-4.249/166.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.522. Anderson with another good pass, but will not improve and got bumped back one spot by Johnson. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.771, 660ft-4.254/166.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.531.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.595/210.21, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.593/209.79, Was #2
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.592/209.49, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.608/209.43, Was #7

No help here for Edwards and he gets bumped back one spot, by Gaines as he makes a great pass going to the number two spot. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.774, 660ft-4.251/166.89 mph, 1,000ft-5.524.
V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.242/166.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.517.
