Pro Extreme Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Extreme at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Memphis Drags IV listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Brian Dillard Runs 4.418/175.68, Now #25; Best prior run: 4.197/178.73, Was #25
Right Lane: John Sullivan Jr Runs 3.848/202.39, Now #18; Best prior run: 3.898/203.55, Was #20

4:43 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 68 percent, barometer 29.71 inches, adjusted altitude 2,592 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Dillard shook the tires at the hit, backed off the throttle, coasted about five feet and got back on it. Sullivan runs a career best pass but still doesn't get in the show.


Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 3.730/199.79, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.797/178.14, Was #17
Right Lane: Gene Hector Runs 3.767/196.44, Now #16; Best prior run: 3.773/198.90, Was #15

Snider makes his quickest pass of the weekend and bumps out Allen. Hector improves a little but drops to the bump spot as Snider goes around him.

Left Lane: Mike Recchia Runs 3.667/208.17, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.671/207.88, Was #10
Right Lane: Neal Wantye Runs 3.681/205.04, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.700/205.54, Was #12

Wantye went on a wild ride here, first going to the left, then a hard move to the right, almost turning sideways, but he never backs off the throttle. Recchia went right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend.

Left Lane: Alex Hossler Runs 3.599/211.13, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.601/210.44, Was #1
Right Lane: Monte Grace Runs 4.101/178.92, Now #23; Best prior run: 4.089/171.77, Was #23

Hossler makes an impressive pass, the quickest of the weekend and he improves on his number one qualifying time. Grace makes a clean pass but slows from his best attempt.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 3.634/208.68, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.628/210.67, Was #4
Right Lane: Joey Martin Runs 4.684/107.27, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.626/216.27, Was #3

Martin shakes the tires at the hit. he moves to the left, then back to the right, then he backs off the throttle about 300 feet out. Smith makes a clean pass but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 3.772/187.94, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.639/209.65, Was #6
Right Lane: Tony Williams Runs 4.214/178.61, Now #26; Best prior run: 12.041/44.62, Was #27

Scruggs had problems near the end of the run and the car nosed over just before he went through the lights. Williams made a clean pass but is way off the pace.

Left Lane: Bubba Stanton Runs 5.172/109.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.642/208.97, Was #7
Right Lane: John Stanley Runs 3.793/200.53, Now #15; Best prior run: 3.757/200.56, Was #15

Stanton heads for the wall as soon as he hit the throttle and had to abort the run quickly. Stanley made a clean pass but did not improve.

Left Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 5.288/118.62, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.702/202.21, Was #13
Right Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 3.677/206.51, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.674/206.89, Was #11

Tindle makes a quick move to the right at the hit, pedals three or four times but can't get the car to settle down and backs off the throttle. Snyder makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.672/205.41, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.657/206.35, Was #9
Right Lane: Stan Allen Runs 5.331/90.49, Now #17; Best prior run: 3.783/201.49, Was #17

Allen loses traction off the line and has to back off the throttle about 100 feet out. D'Aprile makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Danny Lowry Runs 3.837/205.63, Now #18; Best prior run: 3.868/202.18, Was #20
Right Lane: Richard Holt Runs 3.911/176.95, Now #21; Best prior run: 4.163/186.36, Was #24

Lowry makes his quickest pass of the weekend but it isn't enough to get in the show. Holt gets about 500 feet out and blows the engine. He goes through the lights leaving a trail of oil behind him so we will be down for a bit.

Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 3.964/161.56, Now #21; Best prior run: 3.862/184.62, Was #20
Right Lane: Bil Clanton Runs 3.837/192.03, Now #19; Best prior run: 3.922/183.54, Was #22

Clanton makes his quickest pass of the weekend but still doesn't make the field. Tutterow was on a decent pass but the engine started struggling around half track.

Left Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 3.603/209.07, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.612/209.69, Was #2
Right Lane: Brandon Pesz Runs 3.646/210.21, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.649/209.75, Was #8

Taylor makes another impressive pass but can't quite take the pole from Hossler. Pesz makes his quickest pasws fo the weekend and stays in the eighth spot.
