Pro Mod Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Aeromotive Fuel Systems Pro Mod at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Memphis Drags IV listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 3.940/188.91, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.955/189.52, Was #9
Right Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.225/74.40, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.130/184.67, Was #14

3:12 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 68 percent, barometer 29.71 inches, adjusted altitude 2,592 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Enders-Stevens rattles the tires off the line, starts moving to the right, then backs off the throttle about 100 feet out. Smith makes his quickest pass of the weekend but doesn't improve enough to move up in the field.


Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 3.902/189.20, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.920/189.68, Was #5
Right Lane: Raymond Matos Runs 4.470/123.38, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.923/191.10, Was #7

Matos goes to the left at the hit, tries to pedal and get the car under control, then finally gives up on the run about 200 feet out. Rivenbark goes right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up a couple of spots to third.

Left Lane: Keith Haney Runs 4.172/170.32, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Jimmy Keen Runs 3.930/190.59, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.922/191.84, Was #6

Haney's engine was popping all the way through the run and he gets in the field on the bump spot. Keen makes a clean pass but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Craig Cawte Runs 3.926/197.91, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.933/189.90, Was #8
Right Lane: Chris Rini Runs 3.886/190.92, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.920/190.11, Was #5

Rini goes right down the groove with a career best pass to take the top spot. Cawte runs a career best but stays in the eighth spot.

Left Lane: Larry Higginbotham Runs 5.451/87.10, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.044/175.25, Was #13
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 3.898/194.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.896/194.83, Was #3

Higginbotham comes off the line and starts drifting to the left. He stays on the throttle for about 200 feet, continues toward the wall and backs off the throttle. Smith drifted a little left early in the run but stayed on the throttle for a decent pass.

Left Lane: Travis Harvey Runs 5.067/99.03, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.916/188.23, Was #5
Right Lane: Kevin Fiscus Runs 3.949/196.07, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.968/194.21, Was #10

Harvey has traction problems and backs off the throttle about 200 feet out. Fiscus makes his quickest pass of the weekend and stays in the tenth spot.

Left Lane: Dan Stevenson Runs 3.902/193.63, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.976/188.41, Was #11
Right Lane: Jim Bell Runs 4.095/191.48, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.161/180.74, Was #15

Stevenson goes right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up to the fourth spot for now. Bell makes a decent pass and moves up to the 14th spot.

Left Lane: Tim Savell Runs 6.257/74.54, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.887/191.67, Was #2
Right Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 5.357/91.81, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.977/189.18, Was #12

O-for-2 on this one. Savell loses traction at the hit and quickly backs off the throttle. Flamholc gets out of shape about 60 feet out, makes a move to the right and clicks it off.
