Pro Extreme Qualifying Notes, Session #1

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Extreme at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Memphis Drags IV listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 3.683/207.88, Now #1
Right Lane: John Sullivan Jr No Time, Now #2

7:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 69 percent, barometer 29.64 inches, adjusted altitude 2,703 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Sullivan leaves before the tree and receives no time. Taylor starts the session off with an impressive pass to set the early pace.


Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 6.486/81.08, Now #3
Right Lane: Neal Wantye Runs 3.863/199.14, Now #2

Wantye gets out of the groove, makes a move toward the center line, but gets it under control and makes a nice pass to get in the second spot for now. Tutterow had problems early and had to back off the throttle.

Left Lane: Alex Hossler Runs 3.684/207.24, Now #2
Right Lane: Monte Grace Runs 6.864/70.38, Now #5

Grace rattles the tires at the hit, makes a move to the left, then backs off the throttle about 100 feet out. Hossler makes a clean, straight pass and gets in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 3.669/207.53, Now #1
Right Lane: Randell Reid Runs 5.775/92.99, Now #5

Reid shakes the tires at the hit, moves to the left, then a hard move to the right. He heads for the wall and has to give up on the run. Smith goes right down the groove with the quickest pass of the round so far to move into the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Mike Recchia Runs 5.716/103.43, Now #6
Right Lane: Gene Hector Runs 4.617/116.98, Now #5

Recchia has traction problems at the hit, gets about 60 feet out and backs off the throttle. Hector started rattling the tires early, makes a hard move toward the wall and has to back off the throttle early.

Left Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 3.757/204.29, Now #5
Right Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 3.715/205.63, Now #4

A couple of pretty good runs, both going right down the groove.

Left Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 3.686/207.18, Now #4
Right Lane: Bil Clanton Runs 4.270/165.38, Now #8

Scruggs makes a clean, straight pass and gets in the fourth spot for now. Clanton had a sluggish sixty-foot time and the car never really seemed to make a move.

Left Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.738/205.26, Now #7
Right Lane: Joey Martin Runs 3.702/202.30, Now #5

A good side by side, these two were glued together all the way through the run. Martin gets in the show in the fifth spot, D'Aprile in the seventh.

Left Lane: Bubba Stanton Runs 3.653/208.42, Now #1
Right Lane: Stan Allen Runs 3.818/191.73, Now #10

Stanton goes right down the groove with the quickest pass of the round to move into the top spot for now. Allen makes a clean run to get in the tenth spot.

Left Lane: Steve George Runs 3.948/187.65, Now #12
Right Lane: Tony Williams Runs 12.041/44.62, Now #19

Williams stumbles off the line and rolls through slowly. George makes a decent pass in the school bus and gets in the 12th spot for now.

Left Lane: Brian Dillard Runs 4.240/179.33, Now #14
Right Lane: Richard Holt Runs 4.163/186.36, Now #13

Dillard has problems at the hit and has to pedal. Holt's engine was a little sluggish all the way through the run.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 3.797/178.14, Now #11
Right Lane: John Stanley Runs 3.757/200.56, Now #10

A couple of decent passes, these two were side-by-side all the way through the run.

Left Lane: Danny Lowry Runs 4.679/118.59, Now #20
Right Lane: Brandon Pesz Runs 3.717/206.92, Now #8

Lowry's engine was smoking at the hit, then moves toward the wall before backing off the throttle. Pesz makes a decent pass and gets in the show in the eighth spot.

Left Lane: Todd Martin Runs 3.684/207.11, Now #5

Martin makes a decent pass and get in the show in the fifth spot to end this session.
