Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Session #1

GRAND BEND, Ont. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the 2013 Nitro Jam Series, Mopar Nitro Jam Nationals Day One listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Ike Maier Runs 5.155/235.76, Now #1
Right Lane: Bruce Litton Runs 8.676/97.12, Now #2

8:41 p.m. Litton got about 100 feet, started smoking the tires and lifted. Maier made a good run almost to the 1,000-foot marker, then the pipes went wet.

Left Lane: Kyle Wurtzel Runs 5.056/249.49, Now #2
Right Lane: Bobby Lagana Jr. Runs 4.916/313.29, Now #1

This was a nice drag race, right up until Wurtzel's blower belt gave up as they neared the 1,000-foot marker. Lagana led all the way, on a holeshot, but Wurtzel was closing fast until his rubber band broke.

Kyle Wurtzel's incremental times: 60ft-0.887 sec., 330ft-2.299, 660ft-3.338/240.55 mph, 1,000ft-4.229.
Bobby Lagana Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.886 sec., 330ft-2.310, 660ft-3.349/243.72 mph, 1,000ft-4.201.

The reaction times - Wurtzel 0.100, Lagana 0.040.
