PMRA Pro Mod Qualifying Notes, Session #1
By Larry Sullivan

GRAND BEND, Ont. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in PMRA Pro Mod at the 2013 Nitro Jam Series, Mopar Nitro Jam Nationals Day One listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 6.140/238.85, Now #1
Right Lane: Eric Latino Runs 6.355/235.35, Now #2

8:08 p.m. The weather front appears to be past us - we were threatened, but other than a brief sprinkle on the top end and a few minutes of down time for lightning near the track, we have been racing since 1 p.m.

Now it's the Pro racers' turn and the Pro Modified Racing Association lead off the Friday show. This is the first of three rounds of qualifying for an eight-car field.

Both drivers had to momentarily lift to get through some major tail-shaking early in the run, Lang getting the better of the correction.

Left Lane: Tony de Legarre Runs 6.606/213.23, Now #3
Right Lane: Tim Martin Runs 7.426/146.00, Now #4

Tire shake. De Legarre Managed to get throuhgh it and finish the run, Martin was not.

Left Lane: Sam Andreacchi Runs 7.914/120.13, Now #5

Andreacchi pedaled about 100 feet out, then the rear stepped out at about the 330-foot marker and he lifted for good.

Left Lane: Paolo Giust No Time, Now #7
Right Lane: Derek Hunter Runs 6.410/211.59, Now #3

Giust's car went left, then right, then he shut it down. Hunter made a fairly good pass, but there was a big puff of smoke when he put the chutes out and the finish line reflectors went flying. Iy took a bit to get it sorted out, but it was the chutes that took out the reflector, so Hunter's run counts. Giust will not get a time since the finish line was gone when he got there several seconds later.

Left Lane: Rocky Dileece Runs 6.109/237.30, Now #1
Right Lane: Jack Grainy Runs 10.496/95.85, Now #8

Grainy shook hard and shut it off. Dileece made a very nice pass and he will get the #1 spot for at least tonight.

Rocky Dileece's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.680, 660ft-4.027/184.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.160.
