NORWALK, Ohio - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 77 percent, barometer 29.15 inches, adjusted altitude 2,579 feet.

Farber and Rowe have each won 1 times against the other in prior events. Farber to quick on the tree and turned on the red light. Rowe launched hard and runs his quickest pass of the weekend for the easy win.

Coughlin is 1 - 0 against King in prior events. Coughlin with the big starting line advantage, but then shook hard and pedaled it, but couldn't get it to hook up. King started to shake past half track and pedaled it for the win.

Lang is 1 - 0 against Tindle in prior events. Lang with the starting line, but Tindle had made up the difference by 150 feet and took the win by 0.0497 seconds (approximately 18 feet). Tindle with his quickest pass of the weekend and he will have lane choice over King in round two.

This is the first time Smith and Martin have faced each other in eliminations. Smith is out of the gate first and never trailed as Martin shook right at the hit. Smith with his quickest pass of the weekend.

This is the first time Janis and Latino have faced each other in eliminations. Latino is out of the gate first and then started to shake and got out of the groove and close to the centerline before he clicked it off. Janis launched hard and he runs his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. He will have lane choice over V. Smith in the next round.

Lutz making his NHRA debut and he has a great light, but Castellana has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree and then runs low E.T. of the event for the win. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.593, 660ft-3.868/194.77 mph, 1,000ft-4.955. Castellana will have lane choice over Satterfield in the next round.

Smith is 2 - 0 against Juliano in prior events. Juliano is out of the gate first, but Smith was able to chase him down just before 1000 feet and took the win by 0.0611 seconds (approximately 20 feet). Smith will give up lane choice to Rowe in the next round.
