NORWALK, Ohio - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals:

4:54 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 29.09 inches, adjusted altitude 3,619 feet, track temperature 124 degrees.

Not sure what happened with Veney, he does his burnout, they raise the body, then the engine shuts down. Noakes starts rattling the tires early, gets about 300 feet out and clicks it off.

Bojec breaks the tires loose at the hit, makes a move to the right and has to back off the throttle. Hool goes right down the groove with a good run for the conditions for the win.

Bartone has problems getting the engine started and has to do a short burnout. He comes off the line, makes a move to the left and takes out the 330' timing block. Van Hauen goes right down the middle of the track with a decent pass to take the win.

Ferriolo is a no-show. Manzo goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the round so far.

A good side-by-side, they leave the line and stay glued together all the way through the run. Anderika gets out in front early, then Bohl starts making up ground, driving around him at the 1000 foot mark and pulling ahead for the win.

Andy Bohl's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.013), 330 ft(-0.028), 660ft(-0.019), 1,000ft(-0.001). MOV: 0.0121 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

Bohl will have lane choice over Noakes in round two.

Drew pulls the wheels, sets them back down and starts shaking the tires. he gets about 300 feet out and backs off the throttle. Pomponio makes a decent pass but will give up lane choice to Hool in round two.

Simonton gets a small advantage off the line then makes her quickest pass of the weekend to take the win.

Simonton will give up lane choice to Manzo in round two.

Foster gets a huge holeshot, starts pulling away, then bangs the blower about 500 feet out and the car noses over. Tigges goes around the wounded Foster just before half track and pulls away for the win.

Fred Tigges' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.173), 330 ft(-0.174), 660ft(0.010), 1,000ft(0.368). MOV: 1.0878 seconds (more than 100 feet).

Van Hauen will have lane choice over Tigges in round two.
