Top Alcohol Dragster Round 1 Eliminations

NORWALK, Ohio - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 29.09 inches, adjusted altitude 3,619 feet, track temperature 124 degrees.

This is the first time Kosky and Booher have faced each other in eliminations. Booher with a great reaction time and never trailed as Kosky started to shake right off the starting line and clicked it off. Booher just few ticks off his qualifying time for the win.

Michalek with the starting line advantage, but Perry has the difference made up by the time they went by the Christmas tree. Perry is just tick off his qualifying time for the win.

McPhillips is 3 - 1 against Meyer in prior events. A couple good reaction times with McPhillips getting the slight starting line advantage, but Meyer has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree. Meyer will give up lane choice to Booher in the next round.

This is the first time Fricke and Samsel have faced each other in eliminations. Fricke with the starting line advantage and the lead until right in the lights where Samsel is able to chase her down. Samsel with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. Robin Samsel's MOV: 0.0303 seconds (approximately 11 feet).

This is the first time Stalba and Page have faced each other in eliminations. Page with the starting line advantage and then started to rattle the tires and he pedaled it and when he did it pulled the front end around 200 feet down track. Stalba had the lead by by 330 feet and took the win by 0.0038 seconds (approximately 18 inches). She will give up lane choice to Samsel in the next round.

Reichert is 6 - 2 against Hirata in prior events. They leave together and then it is all Hirata for the win. Hirata will give up lane choice to Perry in the next round.
