Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1

NORWALK, Ohio - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 6.036/243.06, Now #1
Right Lane: Bill Lutz Runs 6.144/211.99, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 59 percent, barometer 29.13 inches, adjusted altitude 3,177 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Lutz is making his NHRA Pro Mod debut. Tim Tindle's incremental times: 60ft-1.024 sec., 330ft-2.699, 660ft-4.007/191.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.110.
Bill Lutz's incremental times: 60ft-1.092 sec., 330ft-2.823, 660ft-4.087/197.10 mph, 1,000ft-5.158.


Left Lane: Eric Latino Runs 6.076/242.32, Now #3
Right Lane: Harold Martin Runs 5.962/237.25, Now #1

Martin launched hard and keep it hooked up to make a good pass to start the weekend. Harold Martin's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.623, 660ft-3.916/191.16 mph, 1,000ft-5.021. Latino with a real nice pass. Eric Latino's incremental times: 60ft-1.032 sec., 330ft-2.716, 660ft-4.036/189.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.146.

Left Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 8.285/116.44, Now #6
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.005/242.67, Now #2

Juliano made a quick move toward the wall before he clicked it off. Matusek with a real nice looking pass to go to the number two spot. Steve Matusek's incremental times: 60ft-1.031 sec., 330ft-2.692, 660ft-3.982/192.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.078.

Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 9.515/93.20, Now #8
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 6.093/239.87, Now #5

Farber with violent tire shake right at the hit and was out of the groove over by the wall when he clicked it off. King was straight down the groove with a nice pass. Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-1.046 sec., 330ft-2.757, 660ft-4.057/190.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.160.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 5.984/245.27, Now #3
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.918/240.77, Now #1

Castellana launched hard and was straight down the groove to the number one spot with a great pass. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.606, 660ft-3.892/193.05 mph, 1,000ft-4.987. Satterfield with great pass to go to the number three spot. Clint Satterfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.705, 660ft-3.981/195.48 mph, 1,000ft-5.066.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 10.876/79.38, Now #12
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.961/242.63, Now #2

Smith is out of power by 330 feet. Janis with a great pass to go to then number two spot. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.017 sec., 330ft-2.648, 660ft-3.935/192.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.034.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.986/242.58, Now #6
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 5.976/243.94, Now #4

this was a great side-by-side drag race as they go to the number four and six spots. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.649, 660ft-3.954/191.32 mph, 1,000ft-5.058.
Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.654, 660ft-3.950/191.54 mph, 1,000ft-5.052.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.910/243.94, Now #1
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 5.922/244.07, Now #3

This is a great drag race to wrap up round one of qualifying. Smith goes to the number one spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.617, 660ft-3.900/193.90 mph, 1,000ft-4.990. Coughlin goes to the number three spot. Troy Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.019 sec., 330ft-2.683, 660ft-3.928/198.26 mph, 1,000ft-5.006.
