Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

NORWALK, Ohio - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Dawn Minturn Runs 7.277/155.63, Now #1
Right Lane: Odolph Daniels Runs 16.990/45.32, Now #2

4:42 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 59 percent, barometer 29.16 inches, adjusted altitude 3,203 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Minturn drifted to the right all the way through the run and finally had to back off the throttle about 1200 feet out.Daniels had problems early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.235/185.10, Now #2
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.111/188.60, Now #1

DeSantis makes a decent pass and takes the early pole.

Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 6.995/192.55, Now #1

Berry makes the first pass in the sixes and takes the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.960/192.00, Now #1
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.002/193.02, Now #3

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.963/192.00, Now #2
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.040/191.43, Now #5

Hines makes a decent pass and moves into the second spot. Gann makes a clean run but is well off the pace.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.992/192.91, Now #4
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.968/192.96, Now #3

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.986/190.40, Now #4
Right Lane: Adam Arana Runs 7.173/187.83, Now #10

Arana was drifting to the left all the way through the run and got close to the timing blocks at the end of the track. Krawiec made a decent pass and gets in the fourth spot for now.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.967/191.38, Now #3
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.982/192.82, Now #5

Pollacheck goes right down the groove and gets in the third spot for now. Smith drifted to the left but hung on for a decent pass.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.953/192.96, Now #1
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.967/192.71, Now #4

Hall makes an impressive pass and takes the top spot for now. Arana drifted to the left but hung on to get in the fourth spot for now.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.926/193.68, Now #1
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.960/193.99, Now #3

Ray goes right down the groove and takes the pole to end this session. Arana makes a clean pass and gets in the third spot.
