MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Extreme at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Summer Drags IX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Michael Biehle Runs 4.407/152.05, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.327/160.69, Was #17
Right Lane: Richard Holt Runs 4.560/107.62, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.940/184.18, Was #14
10:20 p.m. Larry Jeffers is on the bump spot at 4.090.
Shake, pedal, no help for either driver. Biehle's not on the ladder.
Left Lane: Bubba Stanton Runs 5.321/95.09, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.650/206.64, Was #4
Right Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 3.612/208.53, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.714/205.17, Was #10
Stanton launched, shook, and slowed. Snider made the run of his life, a career-best ET, to move all the way from 10th to second.
Left Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 4.717/106.75, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.669/207.77, Was #8
Right Lane: Mike Recchia Runs 3.674/206.92, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.680/206.20, Was #10
Two okay runs, but we are getting spoiled tonight.
Left Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.619/209.06, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.641/208.63, Was #4
Right Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 3.633/210.67, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.654/208.13, Was #6
What a race (ignoring Scruggs' 0.001 red light). Two great runs, side-by-side. However, no changes in the ladder.
Tommy D'Aprile's incremental times: 60ft-0.914 sec., 330ft-2.440.
Jason Scruggs' incremental times: 60ft-0.916 sec., 330ft-2.448.
Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 8.283/74.42, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.680/206.72, Was #10
Right Lane: Neal Wantye Runs 3.798/205.01, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.239/93.13, Was #18
This didn't look good for Wantye, he stutter-stepped the launch, but he got away with it and made it an all-three-second field. That bumps Lrry Jeffers from the field and puts his school bus, driven by Steve George, on the bump spot.
Left Lane: Joey Martin Runs 6.804/69.17, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.661/205.90, Was #7
Right Lane: Gene Hector Runs 5.632/85.22, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.792/197.61, Was #12
This could have gotten serious. Martin's "Lowmad" shook and made a hard move toward the centerline. He saved it. Hector lifted, maybe in reaction, maybe with his own problems.
Right Lane: John Stanley No Time, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.732/204.74, Was #11
Stanley made his burnout, backed up, and shut it off.
Two or three teams that were already qualified skipped this final session and that concludes a very busy evening of qualifying.
