Pro Nitrous Qualifying Notes, Session #3

MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Nitrous at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Summer Drags IX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 3.808/195.39, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.818/195.25, Was #2
Right Lane: Jennifer Green Runs 4.390/158.89, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.387/159.52, Was #14

Nice run by Jackson, strong and straight.

Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.552.

Left Lane: Keith Jackson Runs 6.581/83.50, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.041/182.44, Was #11
Right Lane: John Vergotz No Time, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.025/184.71, Was #10

Vergotz made a weak burnout and shut the car off. Jackson made a string, long burnout, but when he launched the car made a hard move toward the wall and he lifted.

Left Lane: Josh Green Runs 4.894/111.78, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.189/167.68, Was #13
Right Lane: John Decerbo Runs 4.773/108.14, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.964/183.95, Was #8

Both cars started shaking about 200 feet out and both driver threw in the towel.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 3.847/191.25, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.451/121.73, Was #15
Right Lane: Blake Housley Runs 3.912/191.73, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.757/108.36, Was #17

Cstellana finally got down the track, but he had to do a lot of driving to get there. Housley also snapped a streak of bad rounds with a full pass of his own.

Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.556.
Blake Housley's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.621.

Left Lane: Jason Harris Runs 3.857/192.81, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.864/192.06, Was #5
Right Lane: Bob Rahaim Runs 3.857/195.13, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.882/194.21, Was #7

How about virtually-identical ETs? Both drivers already had good runs on the books, both stepped up even further here. Both are season-best ETs, Harris's ET is also a career-best and Rahaim's is also a season-best speed.

Left Lane: Tommy Franklin Runs 7.559/65.28, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.095/181.72, Was #14
Right Lane: Kenny Rucker Runs 8.596/49.98, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.134/75.82, Was #18

Both drivers launched into heavy tire shake and shut off.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.790/61.96, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.873/195.46, Was #7
Right Lane: Ed Burnley Runs 3.960/187.08, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.013/185.67, Was #11

Hall spun and got sideways right off the starting line. Burnley continued his steady improvements from run to run, getting under four seconds on this one.

Left Lane: Robert Patrick Jr Runs 3.823/193.80, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.655/112.10, Was #17

Patrick may have been out of the driver's seat for awhile, but he definitely hasn't forgotten how to drive a car. His car made at least four visible moves and he drove through them without lifting.

Robert Patrick Jr's incremental times: 60ft-0.937 sec., 330ft-2.544.
