By Larry Sullivan

MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Extreme Pro Stock at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Summer Drags IX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Bradley Waddle Runs 4.130/176.24, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.142/175.02, Was #10

6:31 p.m. Freshly-prepped track, including a scrape of the first 100 feet.

Looks like the first two like the new surface, both stepped up a bit.

BTW, there will be a fourth qualfying round for all classes this evening - and the cars have been coming in steadily all day long.

Left Lane: Scott Hintz Runs 4.117/176.30, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.118/175.61, Was #4
Right Lane: Ron Miller Runs 4.179/171.41, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.172/169.70, Was #12

Hintz improved a whole thousandth! Miller has made three runs within eight thousandths of each other today, this one was with his best speed of the season.

Left Lane: John Pluchino Runs 4.163/172.27, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.127/174.78, Was #5
Right Lane: Cary Goforth Runs 4.121/175.42, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.130/176.24, Was #7

Pluchino failed to improve and Goforth leapgrogged over him on the ladder.

John Pluchino's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.741.
Cary Goforth's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.712.

Left Lane: John Konigshofer Runs 4.138/173.67, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.140/174.33, Was #11
Right Lane: Pete Berner Runs 4.098/175.55, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.964/105.65, Was #13

Konogshofer's Mustang is a brand-new Haas-built chassis and Jerry Haas is here keeping a close eye on the new, bright red toy. Nice run by Konigshofer, but Berner stole the show this time around after struggling through the first two rounds. He went all the way up to #2 on a very nice run.

John Konigshofer's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.724.
Pete Berner's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.695.

Left Lane: Matt Bertsch Runs 4.139/174.29, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.139/174.25, Was #11
Right Lane: Elijah Morton Runs 4.075/176.20, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.092/174.93, Was #1

Wow! Bertsch matched his previous best of the day, but Morton showed his muscle with the best run of the day.

Matt Bertsch's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.728.
Elijah Morton's incremental times: 60ft-0.977 sec., 330ft-2.677.

Right Lane: John Deflorian Jr. Runs 4.098/176.30, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.108/177.60, Was #3

Deflorian has been consistently quick today and this run was the best of the three so far. Meanwhile, Goforth continues to struggle, unable to get past the tree under power.

Left Lane: John Montecalvo Runs 4.102/175.62, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.127/175.38, Was #8

Montecalvo made his best run of the event and moved up to fourth.

Left Lane: Doug Kirk Runs 4.115/175.02, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.114/174.35, Was #5

Kirk had to do a lot of driving on this one, the car out of the groove and close to the wall in the middle of the run.
