3:18 p.m. Horrible lights in both lanes, but Bealko could not take advantage of his "holeshot" because his car went into severe tire shake and he had to lift.

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
30 Vincent Nobile 177 Elijah Morton
E2 0.036 5.155 163.02 ****WINNER**** 0.038 4.749 161.29
 Prior rounds:
E1 (R PENLAND ) 0.072 4.200 174.87 (C GOFORTH ) 0.026 4.135 176.12

Morton put Nobile in the left lane and the only other time he was in that lane was in the first round yesterday - he crossed the centerline. Both drivers launched, both shook, both pedaled. Trailing smoke, Morton got the win.

6 Pete Berner 7 John Montecalvo
E2 0.026 5.626 99.92 ****WINNER**** 0.045 4.142 176.12

So far this weekend, Berner has made one good run, Montecalvo has made two.

Berner is still looking for that second good run. He launched into tire shake and the car turned sideways. Meanwhile, Montecalvo madee his third good run and he will have lane choice against Morton in the semifinals.

431 Lester Cooper 151 Dean Goforth
E2 ****WINNER**** 0.100 4.338 159.38 0.097 9.030 67.02
 Prior rounds:
E1 (D KIRK ) 0.042 4.183 172.65 (B WADDLE ) 0.079 4.126 177.65
 Qualified: #9 4.170 172.28 #1 4.068 178.45
Both cars shook and danced right after they launched. Cooper managed to get hooked back up, sort of, and skirted the wall the rest of the way for the win. Goforth never did find the magic traction switch and all he could do was watch Cooper going away.

Cooper faces DeFlorian in the semifinals, DeFlorian has lane choice.
