Pro Extreme Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

PETERSBURG, Va. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Extreme Motorcycle at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, Simply Phones U.S. Drags VI listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Travis Davis Runs 4.142/171.82, Now #1
Right Lane: John Collins Runs 4.247/165.76, Now #2

6:13 p.m. Two clean runs to open the session.

Left Lane: Ronald Procopio Runs 5.040/100.42, Now #4
Right Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 4.373/151.60, Now #3

Procopio was on a good pace, then his engine stopped suddenly, Procopio's head almost hitting the handlebars.Full pass for Schnitz

Left Lane: Mantez Thompson Runs 4.176/167.93, Now #2
Right Lane: Tyler Wilson Runs 9.013/45.80, Now #6

Wilson's engine went sour immediately. Nice run by Thompson, straight down the groove. That's a career-quickest run for the youngster.

Left Lane: Eran Pielert Runs 4.422/156.12, Now #5
Right Lane: T.T. Jones Runs 7.060/62.65, Now #7

Jones had problems on the launch and coasted through. Full pass for Pielert.

Whatever happend to Jones' bike left some fluids on the track, so there was a short delay while the starting line crew mopped up the launch pad.

Left Lane: Dave Norris Runs 4.145/169.57, Now #2
Right Lane: Casey Stemper Runs 4.299/158.45, Now #5

Both were on good runs, but there was a puff of smoke from Stemper's engine as he neared the stripe and he slowed.

Left Lane: Jack Young Runs 4.310/166.25, Now #7
Right Lane: Ashley Owens Runs 4.090/174.17, Now #1

Clean runs in both lanes, Owens assuming his usual position at the head of the field.

Left Lane: Jeremy Teasley Runs 4.866/111.72, Now #11
Right Lane: Charlie Prophit Runs 4.313/156.64, Now #8

Teasley had engine problems about half way to the stripe.

Left Lane: Eric McKinney Runs 4.049/176.79, Now #1
Right Lane: Monte Campbell No Time, Now #16

These two will set a bump spot.

Campbell's engine died on the launch. No problems for McKinney, however, resetting the track ET record.

Eric McKinney's incremental times: 60ft-1.034 sec., 330ft-2.676.

Left Lane: Paul Gast Runs 4.225/169.51, Now #7
Right Lane: Terry Schweigert Runs 4.175/168.14, Now #5

Good runs in both lanes. Now T.T. Jones is on the bump spot at 7.060.

Left Lane: Dave Vantine Runs 4.175/169.78, Now #5
Right Lane: Brunson Grothus Runs 4.217/166.50, Now #8

Nice runs in both lanes, both getting into the field.

Now Jeremy Teasley is on the bump spot at 4.866.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 4.450/156.21, Now #16

Smith closes the session on his Pro Stock Motorcycle Buell.

He squeaked into the field, on the bump spot, but he lowered it by four tenths of a second.
