Pro Mod Qualifying Notes, Session #1

PETERSBURG, Va. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Aeromotive Fuel Systems Pro Mod at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, Simply Phones U.S. Drags VI listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Jeff Lutz Runs 4.778/188.28, Now #2
Right Lane: Raymond Matos Runs 3.962/190.11, Now #1

5:46 p.m. Lutz spun hard on the launch and had to backpedal to finish the run. Matos' car was making a lot of moves from side to side, but he never lifted.

Left Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 3.986/188.83, Now #2
Right Lane: Jimmy Keen Runs 4.013/188.28, Now #3

Good runs in both lanes, Flamholc joining Matos in the threes.

Left Lane: Dan Stevenson Runs 8.452/69.88, Now #6
Right Lane: Tim Savell Runs 3.928/192.69, Now #1

Stevenson's car got very sideways with instant tire spin. Savell, in the "Bankston Boys" Camaro, made a strong first run to take over the top spot.

Left Lane: L.J. Wood Jr. Runs 5.087/128.96, Now #7
Right Lane: Larry Higginbottham Runs 4.111/167.53, Now #5

Wood left first, slowed after shaking the tires hard. Higginbotham waited a half-second, then made a smooth run.

Left Lane: Todd Howard Runs 3.990/188.86, Now #4
Right Lane: Travis Harvey Runs 6.385/86.75, Now #9

Harvey shook and slowed. Howard made a strong run, the car a bit right of the groove on the top end.

L.J. Wood Jr. is on the bump spot at 5.087.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 4.199/148.05, Now #8
Right Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 4.024/185.74, Now #6

Smith's car made a hard right turn on the launch and he managed top stay in his own lane, fighting to stay there all the way to the stripe. Rivenbark made a clean run, with no visible problems.

After one, it's Tim Savell leading the field at 3.928 and Rickie Smith is on the bump spot at 4.199.
