K&N Spring Fling 20s Day 2 Results

BRISTOL, Tenn. --

In the past four years, the K&N Spring Fling 20s presented by Sparco has reset the height of the bar when it comes to successful bracket races. Beginning in 2010 with almost 200 races cars on the property, the event has grown in not only attendance but stature as well. From the size of the purse, to the tens of thousands of dollars in giveaways and ancillary races within the race, along with the live Internet feed through the www.bracketraces.com website, it's the race everyone wants to be a part of.

Saturday's Plan C was to complete Friday's Nitroplate $40,000 combined race following by starting Sunday's $30-grander. Best laid plans though always take a back seat when Mother Nature intervenes. Morning showers dripped persistently enough to cause racing to be delayed until well after noon-time. The Bristol Dragway staff did what they do best though and had the race track in tip-top shape to complete the second round and begin the third before more showers delayed eliminations.


With the track once again dry, eliminations continued until the fourth round with ten pairs of cars left to go when the skies opened up once more. By this time, the 8:00 hour had come around and with no anticipation of the rain ending soon, racing was called for the night.

Sunday morning, racing will continue with the end of the fourth round followed by the continuation of the event. After the Racers for Christ chapel service, racing will begin at 9:30 sharp.

The K&N Spring Fling 20s hit another milestone with its debut on the local CBS television affiliate, News Channel 11. The video of it can be seen at News Channel 11 Clip.

The night concluded with the Racers Appreciation Barbeque hosted by Sparco with enough food, fun and raffles.
