TOPEKA, Kan. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 25th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals:

Nobile is 4 - 1 against Gaines in prior events. Nobile with the starting line advantage and the power to hold on for the hole shot win as they run identical E.T.s. Vincent Nobile's MOV: 0.0186 seconds (approximately 6 feet).

Shane Gray has now qualified in the top half of the field at five consecutive races for the first time in is career. Gray and Jones have each won 1 times against the other in prior events. Erica qualified in the second spot and that is her best starting position since Reading last year. This is Rodger Brogdon's lowest starting spot of the year. Enders-Stevens is 6 - 1 against Brogdon in prior events. They leave together with Enders-Stevens getting the slight advantage, but then had problems early and pushed in the clutch. Brogdon will give up lane choice to Hartford in the next round.

This is Mike Edwards' fourth number one spot in Topeka in the last five years. Edwards is 2 - 1 against Kent in prior events. Edwards swapped engines this morning. Kent was way red, giving Edwards the freebie. Edwards runs low E.T. of the round and will have lane choice over Nobile in the next round.
