Right Lane: Dave Hirata Runs 5.540/260.61, Now #7; Best prior run: 12.612/105.89, Was #11
4:25 p.m. - Hirata did not make the field in last night's qualifying session. This time he took his dragster straight down the groove to move into the number seven spot in the order for now.
Left Lane: Don Nolan Runs 6.014/240.64, Now #10; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mike Kosky Runs 18.337/238.43, Now #11; Best prior run: 8.961/91.24, Was #10
Nolan did not get an ET in the first session because he left before the tree was activated. This time, he made it down the track but was not quick enough to make the field. Kosky shook the tires so hard coming off the starting line that the chutes deployed at about 100 feet.
Left Lane: Paul Fishburn Runs 5.532/256.55, Now #7; No Prior Run
Right Lane: John Paul Gutierrez Runs 5.676/252.10, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.800/249.58, Was #8
Fishburn's car would not go into reverse after his burnout last night so he did not get an ET in the first session. Gutierrez was on the bump spot before this run. This time, Fishburn took his car down the track to put himself into the field and bump Gutierrez out of the field. Dave Hirata is now on the bump spot at 5.540.
Left Lane: William Litton Runs 5.838/249.21, Now #10; Best prior run: 11.005/78.60, Was #13
Right Lane: Jeff Veale Runs 5.764/264.49, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.503/269.83, Was #6
Veale got his car started late and only had time to stage without taking a burnout. He had a straight run down the track but was not as quick as he was in the first session. Litton moved up three spots with his best run of the weekend so far but was still not quick enough to make the field.
Left Lane: Bill Reichert Runs 9.406/84.05, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.929/229.43, Was #11
Right Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.429/258.86, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.467/261.83, Was #5
Reichert shook the tires last night and was not quick enough to make the field. He shook the tires again at about 100 feet, pedaled the throttle, shook the rear tires again and clicked it off. Samsel was quicker than last night and moved up two spots in the order. Reichert will have one more chance to make the field in a few hours.
Left Lane: Ken Perry Runs 5.470/263.20, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.467/262.90, Was #5
Right Lane: Marty Thacker Runs 5.419/261.47, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.449/264.29, Was #4
Thacker carried the front wheels off the ground for 200 feet or so, then had his lowest ET of the weekend so far. He moved up one spot in the order. Perry also had a good run but was not quite as quick as he was yesterday.
Left Lane: Brandon Booher Runs 9.697/83.60, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.386/267.59, Was #1
Right Lane: Kyle Michalek Runs 5.469/255.19, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.398/259.86, Was #2
Booher came off the starting line with a 0.920 second 60-foot time, then began to slow. Michalek had a good run but was not as quick as last night.
