Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 33rd annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 8.401/127.97, Now #8; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 48 percent, barometer 29.29 inches, adjusted altitude 2,918 feet.

Gaydosh shook right at the hit and pedaled it and then got real loose and over by the wall before he clicked it off.


Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 7.339/205.79, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.927/170.60, Was #7
Right Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.713/206.73, Now #6; Best prior run: 16.497/43.25, Was #9

WJ with a lot of tire shake as soon as the light turned green. Kent was straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.681/207.05, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.660/206.89, Was #5
Right Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.665/206.61, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.646/127.01, Was #8

Johnson is able to get straight down the lane that gave the first two cars trouble. He will not improve over his time from last weekend. Carr with a good clean pass...

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 14.088/59.49, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.641/208.97, Was #4
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.685/207.82, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.635/209.07, Was #3

Morgan was real loose right at the hit and made a quick move toward the centerline and got real close to it before he lifted. McGaha will not improve on his time from last weekend.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 20.199/34.10, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.619/209.10, Was #2
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.620/209.26, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.596/210.11, Was #1

Brogdon with a lot of tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off. Jones with a clean pass, but will not improve on last week's E.T.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.643/208.01, Now #6; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.616/208.91, Now #2; No Prior Run

This was a good side-by-side drag race...Anderson goes to the number two spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.260/167.22 mph, 1,000ft-5.537. Stanfield gets into the top half of the show. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.271/165.44 mph, 1,000ft-5.557.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 9.845/85.94, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.626/209.23, Now #4; No Prior Run

Gaines made a quick move toward the wall and clicked it off. Gray was straight down the groove with a good pass. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.012 sec., 330ft-2.792, 660ft-4.273/167.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.549.

Left Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.628/209.17, Now #6; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.628/209.23, Now #5; No Prior Run

These two were side-by-side all the way down the quarter mile and they run identical E.T. s and Line gets the higher position based on his faster speed. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.792, 660ft-4.275/166.39 mph, 1,000ft-5.551.
Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.786, 660ft-4.270/166.66 mph, 1,000ft-5.550.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.610/209.39, Now #2; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.640/208.71, Now #9; No Prior Run

Coughlin with a great pass, the quickest of the day and he goes to the number two spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.259/166.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.534. Enders with a good clean pass...Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.280/166.81 mph, 1,000ft-5.561.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.605/209.98, Now #3; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.590/210.57, Now #1; No Prior Run

This was a great drag race tow wrap up round two of qualifying and Edwards goes to the number one spot and Johnson to the number three spot with the two quickest passes of the day. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.260/166.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.532.
Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.774, 660ft-4.248/167.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.518.
