BAYTOWN, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 26th annual O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries:

Shields was late and Meyer slowly stretched his lead the rest of the way.

This is the first time Evans and Pierce have faced each other in eliminations. Pierce had a head start and good early numbers, building up a big lead by half track. Then his car started trailing raw fuel and Evans started closing the gap, but by then it was too late.

This is the first time Callaway and McPhillips have faced each other in eliminations.

Callaway's car shook and slowed early in the run. McPhillips made a strong charge over the first half of the track, but slowed on the top end, the chutes out early. He will not have lane choice against Meyer in the semifinals.
