Pro X-Treme Qualifying Notes, Session #1
By David Gerard

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro X-Treme at the 2013 X-Treme Drag Racing League, X-DRL Thunder Valley Madness listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 3.800/204.01, Now #1
Right Lane: Danny Lowry Runs 7.322/71.67, Now #2

12:54 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 33 percent, barometer 28.80 inches, adjusted altitude 2,064 feet.

Tutterow has switched from turbo to blower for this weekend.

WOW! a great looking pass from start to finish with a great ET and huge MPH!

Lowery's turbo Mustang's engine isn't happy at the green and the car motors away. He is on and off the throttle before giving up.

Danny Lowry's incremental times: 60ft-1.392 sec., 330ft-4.215.

Left Lane: Eric Clark Runs 3.828/202.12, Now #3
Right Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.708/205.07, Now #1

Even more WOW! Two great side by side passes with D'Aprile second off the line and first by a bunch at the finish line. Straight and clean right on down the track.

Clark makes a strong and clean pass too and takes over the number three spot.

Eric Clark's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.569.
Tommy D'Aprile's incremental times: 60ft-0.928 sec., 330ft-2.500.

Left Lane: Shawn Jones Runs 7.295/72.28, Now #5
Right Lane: Jay Diedrich Runs 3.859/201.79, Now #4

Jones spins the tires hard at the green and is right off the throttle.

Diedrich joins the three second, 200 MPH group into the number four spot. The car moves around a little at mid-track, but finishes well.

Jay Diedrich's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.625.

Left Lane: Terry Leggett Runs 4.537/110.23, Now #6
Right Lane: Mike Recchia Runs 3.857/201.07, Now #4

You don't see a lot of quick racecars with a black vinyl roof. Recchia's orange and white Camaro looks great.

Leggett was the number one qualifier at Tulsa earlier this month. He's second off the line, but cards the best sixty foot time of the session. The back end steps out at the 330 lights and he has to lift.

Recchia car leaves well and starts to use a lot of race track, but get to near the finish line under power to take over the number four spot.

Terry Leggett's incremental times: 60ft-0.929 sec., 330ft-2.588.
Mike Recchia's incremental times: 60ft-1.013 sec., 330ft-2.620.

Left Lane: Todd Martin Runs 4.472/111.95, Now #6
Right Lane: Randell Reid Runs 4.640/110.60, Now #8

Martin has his hands full after a strong leave and has to lift when the Mustang makes a hard move towards the wall before the 330 lights.

Reid's Belair way loose off the line. He is on and off the throttle before giving it up.

Left Lane: Dan Millen Runs 3.804/198.52, Now #4
Right Lane: Quain Stott Runs 3.778/202.88, Now #2

They leave within 0.003 of each other and run side by side right to the finish line to take the new #2 and #4 spots on the ladder. Nice!!

Dan Millen's incremental times: 60ft-0.960 sec., 330ft-2.558.
Quain Stott's incremental times: 60ft-0.966 sec., 330ft-2.557.

Right Lane: Brian Daniels Runs 3.684/208.23, Now #1

Brandon Pesz's Corvette doesn't want to start, so Daniels will get a single.

He takes advantage of it and thunders on down the track to capture the top spots in ET and MPH. Straight and clean!

Brian Daniels' incremental times: 60ft-0.930 sec., 330ft-2.489.

Left Lane: Brandon Pesz No Time, Now #14

Pesz's Vette still won't start and he is pushed away.

Left Lane: Tim Tindle No Time, Now #15

Tindle is making his first run on a new race car. Still has teething problems, as the car lurches through the lights, trying to stage.
