Pro Stock Round 1 Eliminations

CONCORD, N.C. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals fueled by Full Throttle:

Weather conditions: air temperature 61 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.74 inches, adjusted altitude 772 feet, track temperature 100 degrees.

Allen Johnson has lost in round two in all three years here at the Four-Wide.
Kurt Johnson lost in round one last year and 2010 and was DNQ in 2011.
Greg Anderson has won this race the last two years and lost in round one in the first year.
Larry Morgan was DNQ last year, and lost in round one in 2011 and 2010.

Anderson is first out of the gate first and never trailed for the win, Johnson was second across the finish line. Morgan was real loose early in the run and clicked it off. Johnson was real late on the starting line and just drove on through the quarter mile.

Shane Gray lost in two last year and lost in round one the first two years.
Warren Johnson was a DNQ last year, and lost in round one in the first two years.
Erica Enders-Stevens was runner-up last year, lost in round two in 2011 and lost in round one in 2010.
Greg Stanfield lost in round one last year, he was runner-up in 2011 and made the final round in 2010.

This is Shane Gray's best starting position since he was #2 at Englishtown in 2011.

Gray was out of the gate second and then ran his career quickest and fastest pass to take the win. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.733, 660ft-4.187/169.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.441. Enders-Stevens was first off the line and then second across the stripe to advance. Stanfield with a great short time and then shook and he clicked it off early. Johnson was off the throttle early.

Jeg Coughlin lost in round two last year and lost in round one in 2010 and didn't race in 2011.
Lewis Worden is in his first Four-Wide race.
Jason Line was in the final round last year, lost in round one in 2011 and was runner-up in 2010.
Rodger Brogdon lost in round one in last year and 2011 and lost in round two in 2010.

This is Jeg Coughlin's best starting spot since the Denver race in 2011.

Coughlin with a near perfect light, but then was loose and slowed from his qualifying time and will not advance. Brogdon with a great light, but Line was able to chase him down on the top end. Line and Brogdon advance to the next round. Worden with his quickest pass of the weekend in the losing effort.

Finish Order & Margins: 1. Jason Line was 0.0402 sec./about 12 feet ahead of 2. Rodger Brogdon, who was 0.006 sec./about 22 inches ahead of 3. Lewis Worden, who was 0.081 sec./about 25 feet ahead of 4. Jeg Coughlin

Mike Edwards Lost in round two last year and 2011, but won it in 2010.
Frank Gugliotta was a DNQ in his only race here at the Four-Wide in 2011.
Vincent Nobile lost in round two in the last two years.
V. Gaines was a DNQ last year and 2010 and lost in round one 2011.

Mike Edwards now has been the top qualifier at each of the first five races this season. The last time that happened was when Greg Anderson opened the 2004 season with six consecutive #1 spots...The #1 qualifier has not won in Pro Stock at the 4-Wide event.

Nobile is out of the gate first, but Edwards chased him down to win that round. Gugliotta with his quickest and fastest pass of the season in the losing effort. Gaines with his quickest pass of the weekend in the losing effort.

Finish Order & Margins: 1. Mike Edwards was 0.0295 sec./about 9 feet ahead of 2. V. Gaines, who was 0.005 sec./about 19 inches ahead of 3. Vincent Nobile, who was 0.149 sec./about 46 feet ahead of 4. Frank Gugliotta
