CONCORD, N.C. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals fueled by Full Throttle:

Weather conditions: air temperature 69 degrees, relative humidity 28 percent, barometer 29.44 inches, adjusted altitude 1,589 feet, track temperature 108 degrees.

Veney is 2 - 1 against Noakes in prior events. Noakes with the starting line line advantage and never trailed as Veney had problems early and clicked it off. Noakes with another good pass for the win.

This is the first time Rogers and Drew have faced each other in eliminations. Drew with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Drew lost an engine on the top end, but still gets the win. Rogers with violent shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

This is the first time Bohl and Simonton have faced each other in eliminations. Bohl with the starting line advantage but then had a lot of tire shake and was out of the groove over by the wall before he lifted. Simonton with her quickest pass of the weekend for the win

This is the first time Bogolo and Pomponio have faced each other in eliminations. bogolo with a slight starting line advantage, but Pomponio had the lead by the time they went past the Christmas tree and has another great pass for the win. He will give up lane choice to Manzo in the next round.

Beers with problems on the burnout and just drives off the top end. Whiteley launched hard and keep it hooked up to make another good clean pass. She will have lane choice over Drew in the next round

Brand with the starting line advantage and never trailed as he runs his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. This is the second quickest of the round and he will have lane choice over Simonton in the next round. Dale Brand's incremental times: 60ft-0.945 sec., 330ft-2.459, 660ft-3.657/207.05 mph, 1,000ft-4.671. Naves makes a full pas and his best of the weekend in the losing effort.
