Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals fueled by Full Throttle listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Lane 3: Frank Gugliotta Runs 13.205/64.21, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.690/208.20, Was #16
Lane 4: Buddy Perkinson Runs 9.173/115.39, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.756/206.42, Was #17

Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 28 percent, barometer 29.46 inches, adjusted altitude 1,311 feet, track temperature 107 degrees.

Gugliotta with a lot of tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off. Perkinson shook hard right at the hit and clicked it off.


Lane 1: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 7.410/200.32, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.124/200.20, Was #18
Lane 2: Lewis Worden No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.681/206.73, Was #14
Lane 3: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.589/210.54, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.687/207.59, Was #15
Lane 4: Warren Johnson Runs 6.867/208.75, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.669/207.98, Was #13

Gaydosh with problems early in the run and he will no get in the show. Stanfield with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up ladder four spots. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.252/167.22 mph, 1,000ft-5.520. No help here for WJ and he will start Sunday from the number 14 spot. Worden was shut off and push back from the starting line.

Lane 1: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.534/211.83, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.522/212.39, Was #8
Lane 2: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.656/188.60, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.606/209.95, Was #13
Lane 3: Larry Morgan Runs 11.796/75.19, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.603/209.33, Was #12
Lane 4: Rodger Brogdon Runs 13.914/61.81, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.573/211.10, Was #10

Morgan made a quick move to the left as soon as the light turned green and he clicked it off. Brogdon shook and clicked it off. Nobile with a good pass, but will not improve on his time from earlier today. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.749, 660ft-4.212/168.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.472. Johnson was off the throttle early, and will not improve. Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.768, 660ft-4.250/166.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.529.

Lane 1: Allen Johnson Runs 6.566/211.89, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.500/213.30, Was #3
Lane 2: Jason Line Runs 6.541/212.86, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.516/213.54, Was #5
Lane 3: V. Gaines Runs 6.933/209.85, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.545/212.13, Was #9
Lane 4: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.508/212.96, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.517/212.93, Was #7

No help here for Johnson, Line or Gaines. Johnson will stay in the number three spot, Line will be number six and Gaines will start Sunday from the number nine spot. Enders-Stevens with quickest pass of the round and move up to the number four spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.777, 660ft-4.243/168.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.504.
Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.224/169.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.482.
V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-1.021 sec., 330ft-3.053, 660ft-4.577/163.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.860.
Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.740, 660ft-4.196/169.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.450.

Lane 1: Shane Gray Runs 6.502/212.76, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.498/213.03, Was #2
Lane 2: Mike Edwards Runs 6.490/213.64, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.471/213.64, Was #1
Lane 3: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.495/212.93, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.511/213.47, Was #5
Lane 4: Greg Anderson Runs 6.508/213.67, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.517/213.20, Was #7

This was a great quad to wrap up qualifying, this quad was separated by less than two-hundredths. Edwards with another great pass and it is quick enough to back up up is pass from earlier today for the National E.T. record. Coughlin with a great pass as he is right there with Edwards. Gray with another great pass, the third quickest of the round and he will start Sunday from the number three spot. Anderson with his fastest pass of the season and the fastest pass of the weekend. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.735, 660ft-4.191/169.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.445.
Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.737, 660ft-4.187/170.49 mph, 1,000ft-5.437.
Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.977 sec., 330ft-2.729, 660ft-4.186/169.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.438.
Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.740, 660ft-4.196/168.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.449.
