Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1

CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Kevin McCurdy Runs 6.143/231.83, Now #2
Right Lane: Eric Latino Runs 5.976/243.94, Now #1

Latino making his NHRA debut and he is straight down the groove with a nice pass. McCurdy with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Doug Winters Runs 6.592/214.55, Now #3
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 9.386/103.43, Now #4

Knowles with a lot of tire shake early and clicks it off. winters was straight down the groove with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.019/246.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.498/243.28, Now #4

Matusek with a whisp of tire smoke early, but he drove through it...Satterfield with a good pass to go to the number two spot. Clint Satterfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.759, 660ft-4.032/196.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.110.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 5.963/243.72, Now #1
Right Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 6.208/226.89, Now #5

Coughlin launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Troy Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.716, 660ft-3.968/201.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.045. Juliano with clean pass.

Left Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 6.090/242.71, Now #4
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 7.675/123.64, Now #9

Lang was straight down the groove into the number four spot. Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-1.021 sec., 330ft-2.731, 660ft-4.051/190.70 mph, 1,000ft-5.161. Castellan shook and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 6.069/239.53, Now #5
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.977/242.41, Now #3

Smith launched heard and was straight down the groove to go to the number three spot. Janis with a clean pass to get into the top half of the show. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.046 sec., 330ft-2.708, 660ft-4.013/189.98 mph, 1,000ft-5.130.
Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.662, 660ft-3.953/193.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.051.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.966/244.07, Now #2
Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 6.030/242.45, Now #6

Rowe launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.654, 660ft-3.950/193.10 mph, 1,000ft-5.046. Farber with a good looking pass to get in the top half of the show. Pete Farber's incremental times: 60ft-1.021 sec., 330ft-2.693, 660ft-4.002/192.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.101.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 6.082/247.16, Now #9
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 6.033/236.92, Now #7

a couple clean passes to wrap up round one...Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-1.053 sec., 330ft-2.804, 660ft-4.084/192.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.171.
Von Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.008 sec., 330ft-2.679, 660ft-3.988/190.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.098.
