Two nice runs...good enough to move Hill up a couple spots.
Left Lane: Robert Mathis Runs 3.875/195.62, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.985/190.94, Was #6
Right Lane: Tommy Franklin Runs 4.849/107.09, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.922/189.20, Was #4
Franklin shook and slowed, but Mathis made a very nice run, good enough to take second spot away from Harris.
Left Lane: Matt Suite No Time, Now #11; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Johnny Pilcher Runs 4.071/176.67, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.026/185.41, Was #7
2:35 p.m. Suite didn't make a run in the first session - he is driving for Steve Vick.
This was exciting and could have had a bad ending...Suite's car got out of shape on the top end and made a quick move across the centerline. Pilcher saw him coming, moved over toward the wall and avoided car-to-car contact.
Left Lane: Tim Savell Runs 10.482/42.02, Now #10; Best prior run: 8.566/60.15, Was #10
This is the "Bankston Boys" car.
The car did not come up to high RPM before launching and sputtered its way down the track.
Mike Castellana is on the eight-car bump spot at 4.992, a very vulnerable position.
