Super Chevy Show Cruise to Kick Off from Downtown Waxahachie

Waxahachie Downtown Merchants Association to Sponsor Breakfast



ENNIS, Texas --

For the second consecutive year, the Super Chevy Show will officially kick off with a cruise from downtown Waxahachie before the biggest Bowtie celebration takes place at Texas Motorplex on Saturday, May 4.

All Chevy and GM vehicles are invited to line up around the Ellis County Courthouse along Main Street in downtown Waxahachie. All cruisers will receive a goodie bag with special offers and discounts as well as breakfast items including a local favorite: kolaches.

All pre-registered cruisers will receive a free Texas Motorplex window flag and will be allowed exclusive and instant VIP entrance through the gates of the Motorplex upon arrival.

As always, Super Chevy Magazine staffers will be on site to take photos and video of the cruise. Waxahachie Police Department officers will also escort the cruisers onto Highway 287 for the short trip to the

Motorplex.

The third of 12 Super Chevy Show events slated for 2013 will be held at Texas Motorplex, May 12, 2013. The Super Chevy Show is a celebration of one of America's most popular brands. The Motorplex will be filled with a car show, swap meet, car corral, kid's activities area and of course, drag racing with the region's top bracket racers as well as other family-fun entertainment.

Participant gates open 7 a.m., spectator gates open 8 a.m.; Car show judging seminar 10:30 a.m.; Time trials start at 10 a.m.; Music and BBQ 1-3 p.m.; Car show awards 3:30 p.m. Parking is free for Super Chevy Show. Tickets start at $5 and children 12 and under are free.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion's Club - an 11,000 square-foot facility - that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
