LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 14th annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.756/204.70, Now #10; Best prior run: 18.606/22.56, Was #18

Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 27.68 inches, adjusted altitude 4,474 feet, track temperature 95 degrees.

Carr gets down the track and into the show for now.


Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.800/203.74, Now #15; Best prior run: 12.831/68.26, Was #17
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.685/207.40, Now #3; Best prior run: 19.940/27.31, Was #19

Gray with a great looking pass to go to the number three spot. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.800, 660ft-4.302/163.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.596. Morgan gets it down the track, but not in the show.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.765/205.26, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.831/204.35, Was #17
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.693/206.99, Now #5; Best prior run: 15.445/48.24, Was #19

Jones with a real nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.808, 660ft-4.310/163.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.603. McGaha makes amove in the right direction, but not enough to get in the show.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.753/205.44, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.806/204.85, Was #18
Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.720/204.94, Now #11; Best prior run: 12.555/75.94, Was #19

both cars make moves in the right direction, but not enough to get in the show.

Left Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.758/204.20, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.792/203.80, Was #18
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.745/204.08, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.770/205.38, Was #16

Kent improves, but won't get in the show. Johnson improves and just misses getting into the show.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.735/204.63, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.770/203.83, Was #18
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.706/205.47, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.721/205.69, Was #12

Stanfield improves, but he too won't get in the show. Brogdon gets off the bump spot and into the number 10 spot. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.804, 660ft-4.310/163.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.610.

Left Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.675/206.89, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.710/206.23, Was #11
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.706/207.11, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.702/206.64, Was #8

No help here for Gaines and Enders-Stevens bumps him back one spot as she makes a great pass to go to the number two spot. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.798, 660ft-4.295/164.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.586.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.689/207.78, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.704/206.42, Was #10
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.697/206.54, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.697/206.42, Was #8

No help here for Nobile and Line bumps him back one spot as he goes to the number five spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.808, 660ft-4.310/163.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.602.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.672/207.21, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.691/206.73, Was #6
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 16.644/33.56, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.697/207.27, Was #8

Anderson with severe tire shake as soon as he let the clutch out and pushed it right back in. Johnson launched hard and takes his new car to the number two spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.295/163.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.585.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.651/207.98, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.655/207.69, Was #1
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.655/207.34, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.676/207.18, Was #4

Once again a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up Friday qualifying. Edwards goes to the number one spot...Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-4.280/164.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.566. Coughlin was right there with him and goes to the number two spot...Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.783, 660ft-4.281/164.47 mph, 1,000ft-5.569.
