CONCORD, N.C. -- Media members swapped their cameras and notepads for firesuits and helmets as they learned to drive a dragster at zMAX Dragway with the help of two of the NHRA's up-and-coming stars.

Brittany and Courtney Force, daughters of 15-time NHRA Funny Car champ John Force, were on hand for the Flat Out Fabulous Force Driving School to coach more than a dozen media members on the art of drag racing in advance of the Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, coming April 19-21.

"This is the Bellagio of drag strips, and there's nothing like seeing 40,000 horsepower as the cars go four-wide," said Courtney Force. "This is the only track on the circuit that's built for this, so it's always a challenge to come and race here, but it's always exciting to see."

Driving school participants had the opportunity to make three passes in a Doug Foley Racing Experience dragster, with top speeds reaching more than 140 mph, and take a ride along with a driving instructor as part of the Flat Out Fabulous Force Driving School.

The event, geared specifically to female media, highlighted the diversity in motorsports, where women and men race side-by-side week in and week out.

"We compete in a male-dominated sport, but all we're really focused on is racing," Brittany Force said. "It really doesn't matter who's in the lane next to you. You just have to go out and run your race. That's one of the great things about our sport."

At the end of the day, Fox Sports' Wendy Venturini clocked the fastest run of the day in 9.34 seconds at 140mph. To purchase tickets and camping for the fourth annual Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway, April 19-21, visit www.zmaxdragway.com or call 1-800-455-FANS (3267).
