Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #3

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 44th annual Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 20.504/38.70, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.504/213.47, Was #6

Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 1,537 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Gaines with violent tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.


Left Lane: Greg Stanfield No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.537/211.73, Was #12
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.551/211.93, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.518/211.33, Was #10

Stanfield with problems after the burnout and shut it off. Word from the starting line was that Stanfield thought he broke a rocker arm coming out of the burnout box. Gray chattered the tires right at the hit and he will not improve.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.594/211.59, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.569/211.10, Now #13; No Prior Run

These two get numbers on the board...Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-1.024 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.264/167.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.528.
Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.769, 660ft-4.239/167.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.503.

Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.535/211.59, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.536/211.59, Was #11

Nobile with a lot of tire shake and he pushes in the clutch. Johnson with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay in the number 11 spot. Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.210/168.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.472.

Left Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 12.084/97.71, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mark Martino Runs 6.598/209.04, Now #15; No Prior Run

Gaydosh with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off. Martino with his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show. Mark Martino's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.245/165.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.522.

Right Lane: Lewis Worden Runs 6.591/210.05, Now #15; No Prior Run

Carr with his quickest pass of the weekend and he gets into the show. JR Carr's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.767, 660ft-4.238/167.59 mph, 1,000ft-5.507. Worden gets a number on the board and into the show for now. Lewis Worden's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.771, 660ft-4.247/167.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.519.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.566/211.59, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.549/211.39, Now #13; No Prior Run

Brogdon with his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.221/167.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.485. Hartford with his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.770, 660ft-4.238/168.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.501.

Left Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.530/212.33, Now #11; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.512/212.69, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.483/213.10, Was #3

Jones with his quickest pass of the weekend to get into the show. Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.750, 660ft-4.211/168.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.469. THis is the second quickest of the session. Line with a real nice pass, but will not improve...he has the quickest pass of the round. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.737, 660ft-4.197/168.96 mph, 1,000ft-5.453.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.584/211.49, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.515/212.59, Was #9
Right Lane: Greg Anderson No Time, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.493/212.03, Was #5

Anderson broke after the burnout in his new car and is pushed back from the starting line. No help here for McGaha and he will stay in the No. 9 spot.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.516/213.20, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.481/213.64, Was #2
Right Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.525/213.03, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.505/212.66, Was #7

Johnson with another good looking pass and the second quickest pass of the round. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.746, 660ft-4.206/168.75 mph, 1,000ft-5.460. Enders-Stevens with a real nice pass, the third quickest pass of the round. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.212/169.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.467.

Edwards with another great pass as he runs the quickest pass of the round. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.726, 660ft-4.175/170.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.423. Coughlin with his quickest pass of the weekend and the second quickest of the session. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.729, 660ft-4.183/169.64 mph, 1,000ft-5.433.
