Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #2

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 44th annual Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 11.347/76.64, Now #17; Best prior run: 9.769/92.61, Was #17
Right Lane: Harold Martin No Time, Now #20; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 29 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 1,424 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

Martin is a no show. Janis started to shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.006/238.85, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.738/125.13, Was #14
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 7.262/223.25, Now #14; Best prior run: 12.386/91.21, Was #19

Matusek with violent tire shake right off the starting line and clicks it off. Coughlin launched hard and keep it hooked up to get into the top half of the show with a real nice pass. Troy Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.717, 660ft-3.985/194.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.075.

Left Lane: Adam Flamholc No Time, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.376/135.86, Was #15
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 6.861/146.23, Now #12; Best prior run: 11.053/77.66, Was #19

Flamholc made a quick move toward the centerline and crossed it just past 330 feet. Smith started drifting out of the groove and got real close to the centerline before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.123/238.98, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.968/231.56, Was #14
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 8.825/113.47, Now #18; Best prior run: 9.690/90.25, Was #18

Satterfield with a real nice pass, straight down the groove to move up the ladder. Clint Satterfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.076/192.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.181. King started to shake the tires right off the starting line and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Brad Personett No Time, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.936/222.47, Was #14
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 15.559/38.71, Now #17; Best prior run: 8.596/118.11, Was #17

Personett was a no show. Knowles shook hard and the chute deployed around 400 feet.

Left Lane: Eric Dillard Runs 5.996/249.95, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.728/161.50, Was #11
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 7.468/133.18, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.731/158.37, Was #12

Dillard launched hard and keep it hooked up to get into the top half of the show. Eric Dillard's incremental times: 60ft-1.033 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.023/195.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.097. Winter clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 6.251/210.87, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.374/203.58, Was #11
Right Lane: Raymond Matos Runs 6.063/230.72, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.108/230.76, Was #9

Juliano with his quickest pass, but will stay in the number 11 spot. Chris Juliano's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.699, 660ft-4.052/181.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.225. Matos launched hard and makes the third quickest pass of the session to move into the top half of the show. Raymond Matos' incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.638, 660ft-3.959/186.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.094.

Left Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 5.967/247.70, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.995/246.89, Was #4
Right Lane: Jimmy Keen Runs 10.603/81.56, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.066/235.23, Was #9

Keen shook and clicked it off. Lang improve with a nice pass, straight down the groove and he moves up the ladder one spot. Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-1.021 sec., 330ft-2.695, 660ft-3.979/195.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.060.

Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 5.936/246.17, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.980/245.14, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 9.817/88.71, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.059/236.67, Was #7

Castellana shook and clicked it off. Farber with a great pass, straight down the groove and he moves up the ladder a couple spots. Pete Farber's incremental times: 60ft-0.977 sec., 330ft-2.645, 660ft-3.927/192.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.021.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.945/243.02, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.945/243.02, Was #3
Right Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.852/248.98, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.852/248.98, Was #1

This was a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up day one of qualifying. rowe launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.601, 660ft-3.875/196.36 mph, 1,000ft-4.948. Smith improve on his earlier pass, but will stay in the number three spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.651, 660ft-3.932/194.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.022.
