BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Nostalgia Funny Car at the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series 2013, 55th Annual March Meet:

11:09 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 60 degrees, relative humidity 59 percent, barometer 29.62 inches, adjusted altitude 571 feet, track temperature 66 degrees.

We finally have clear blue skies again and great racing conditions.

They leave close together and Sanders uses his starting line advantage to pull steadily ahead going down the track to take the win.

Horan runs better that his qualifying times, but can't match Sanders' improved pace.

Mark Sanders' incremental margins: 60ft(0.040), 330 ft(0.067), 660ft(0.070), 1,000ft(0.066). MOV: 0.0626 seconds (approximately 23 feet).

Dan Horan Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.636, 660ft-3.868/201.40 mph, 1,000ft-4.918.
Mark Sanders' incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.593, 660ft-3.822/199.82 mph, 1,000ft-4.876.

Our number one qualifier, Rupert, comes to the line and runs the new low ET and top speed od the event for FC's, for an easy win.

Konno was just 0.002 behind him at the green, but slows after the 60 foot lights.

Jason Rupert's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.547, 660ft-3.769/201.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.814.

Head gets a nice starting line advantage and runs better than his qualifying times to seal the easy win.

Martin chases until after mid-track and then lifts.

LaCharite gets a small RT advantage, but Hale is out in front by the sixty foot lights and pulls ahead to the finish line. He runs his best times of the weekend too. He gives up lane choice to Head next round.

LaCharite gives it a valiant effort, buy slows just a little from his prior best.

Dennis La Charite's incremental times: 60ft-1.046 sec., 330ft-2.670, 660ft-3.949/192.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.035.

Capps' L.A. Hooker FC has been sold and is on its way to Australia after this weekend. Capps is ready at the green and starts a steady pull ahead to the finish line.

Bateman is ready, if Capps falters, but can't match the pace.

Sanders will have lane choice over Capps in round two.

Worsham gets a small advantage off the line and stretches it out for an easy win. Looks like more carnage in the lights for Worsham. He has lane choice over Garten later today.
