Left Lane: Rick White Runs 5.738/258.42, Now #2
Right Lane: Denver Schutz Runs 5.736/255.24, Now #1
2:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 58 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.54 inches, adjusted altitude 561 feet, track temperature 71 degrees.
Two long running drivers come to the line and we finally get some sun shine on
Left Lane: Jim Young Runs 5.687/245.18, Now #1
Right Lane: Bill Dunlap Runs 6.068/211.49, Now #4
The defending Champ, Young, is strong off the line and runs straight and true right to the finish line and into the new top spot for now.
Dunlap's fueler was not as strong off the line and may have nipped a couple of pistons in the lights.
Jim Young's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.590, 660ft-3.811/205.26 mph, 1,000ft-4.819.
Bill Dunlap's incremental times: 60ft-1.089 sec., 330ft-2.767, 660ft-4.028/198.12 mph, 1,000ft-5.084.
Left Lane: Jim Murphy Runs 6.097/184.80, Now #5
Right Lane: Larry Gotelli Runs 6.451/169.06, Now #6
Murphy's car jumps off the line, but slows near the top end.
Gotelli chase him until after the 660 lights and lifts too.
Left Lane: Rick McGee Runs 5.846/236.13, Now #4
Right Lane: Ron August Jr. Runs 6.202/226.16, Now #7
McGee's ride is a little lazy off the line and still pulls hard down the track to move into the top four for now.
August's car can't match the pace.
Rick McGee's incremental times: 60ft-1.051 sec., 330ft-2.672, 660ft-3.912/201.73 mph, 1,000ft-4.947.
Ron August Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-1.102 sec., 330ft-2.759, 660ft-4.088/184.75 mph, 1,000ft-5.232.
Left Lane: Howard Haight Runs 8.751/109.83, Now #10
Right Lane: Rick Williamson Runs 5.930/213.94, Now #5
Haight's Mr. Boston fueler is a little lazy off the line and then has a major BANG from the engine near half track. The blower is hanging off the car and there a bunch of small parts on the track.
Williamson was away first and runs hard to near the top end, where he slows.
Howard Haight's incremental times: 60ft-1.127 sec., 330ft-3.071, 660ft-4.888/121.58 mph, 1,000ft-6.827.
Rick Williamson's incremental times: 60ft-1.066 sec., 330ft-2.696, 660ft-3.925/204.66 mph, 1,000ft-4.951.

Left Lane: Brendan Murry No Time, Now #12
Right Lane: Adam Sorokin Runs 13.807/81.77, Now #11
2:52 p.m. ...and we are back to qualifying. Sorokin is driving the Champion Speed Shop potent little small block chevy with a driver canopy. Murry's fueler has one one the best nostalgia look.
Sorokin's strikes the tire right off the line and coasts on down.
Murry's car runs well until right before the 1000 foot lights, where there is smoke from the right side of the engine and he slows. There is oil on the track and his 6.420 @ 160.540 times are DQ'ed.

2:55 p.m. Just a light film in the left lane.
Right Lane: Tony Bartone Runs 11.757/60.73, Now #11
3:12 p.m. Last car of the session and Barton set the toungs wagging on Thursday with what would have been a record breaking pass in the test session.
He had changed lane during the clean up and maybe should have stayed in the left lane. The car makes an initial strong leave and then goes silent right after that.
Jim Young is number one at 5.687 and Field not filled, no bump spot.
