CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 29th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Mark Wolfe Runs 15.072/56.02, Now #13; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 62 degrees, relative humidity 34 percent, barometer 28.77 inches, adjusted altitude 1,919 feet, track temperature 95 degrees.

Wolfe with violent tire shake as soon as he let the clutch out...


Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.903/208.59, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 14.418/75.17, Now #14; No Prior Run

Johnson shook right at the hit and pedaled it to get a number on the board. Morgan with severe tire shake as soon as the light went green.

Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 7.966/124.71, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 30.912/20.83, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.578/210.70, Was #11

Brogdon with violent shake right at the hit and made a quick move toward the wall before he clicked it off. Kramer rattled the tires right off the starting line and then the engine went silent around half track.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.597/209.43, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.582/210.57, Was #12
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 7.212/204.82, Now #14; No Prior Run

Johnson with a lot of tire shake and made move toward the wall, but stayed with it to get a number on the board and in the show. McGaha was straight down the groove with the quickest pass of the day. He will not improve on his time from yesterday and will stay in the number 12 spot. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.244/166.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.518.

Left Lane: Steve Kent Runs 13.035/65.20, Now #17; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.614/210.24, Now #13; No Prior Run

Kent with tire shake and clicked it off and will have one more shot to get in the show. Hartford with the second quickest pass of the round to get in the show. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.781, 660ft-4.261/166.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.536.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.611/208.65, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.568/210.57, Was #10
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.589/209.62, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.555/211.13, Was #8

The first time today both cars get down the track...Nobile with the quickest pass of the round, but will stay in the number eight spot. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.755, 660ft-4.235/165.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.509. Gray with the third quickest pass of the round and he will not improve and will stay in the number 11 spot. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.774, 660ft-4.254/166.39 mph, 1,000ft-5.529.

Left Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.565/210.93, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.555/211.86, Was #7
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.542/212.03, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.554/211.83, Was #6

Johnson with his quickest pass of the weekend and the quickest pass of the round to move up the ladder one spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.211/167.70 mph, 1,000ft-5.474. Enders-Stevens with a good pass and the second quickest of the round, but will not improve on here time from yesterday. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.759, 660ft-4.227/167.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.493.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.595/208.88, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.561/210.73, Was #9
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.562/211.53, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.529/212.63, Was #2

Stanfield with a good short time, but will not improve on his time from yesterday...he runs the fifth quickest pass of the round. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.751, 660ft-4.234/165.90 mph, 1,000ft-5.512. Gaines with another good pass, the second quickest pass of the round, but will not improve on yesterday's time. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.756, 660ft-4.226/167.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.491.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.571/210.67, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.544/211.36, Was #6
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.547/212.39, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.535/212.56, Was #3

Line with the second quickest pass of the round, but will not improve on yesterday's time and will stay in the No. 2 spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.748, 660ft-4.216/167.86 mph, 1,000ft-5.479. Coughlin with a good pass, the fifth quickest of the round and will not improve on the qualifying ladder. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.758, 660ft-4.231/167.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.498.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.601/211.66, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.536/212.56, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.547/211.39, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.498/213.13, Was #1

Anderson rattled the tires right at the hit and got out of the groove and will not improve. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.792, 660ft-4.264/167.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.530. Edwards ties Line with the second quickest pass of the session, but Line will get the two points based on his faster speed. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.754, 660ft-4.218/168.09 mph, 1,000ft-5.479.
