Left Lane: Mark Rogers Runs 9.649/55.77, Now #2
Right Lane: John Headley Runs 8.525/91.63, Now #1
12:37 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 42 percent, barometer 29.88 inches, adjusted altitude 970 feet, track temperature 80 degrees.
Not a good start for either driver. Headley shook and shut off. Rogers
also shook, tried to pedal through it and popped the burst panel near half track.
Left Lane: Dan Pomponio Runs 5.715/253.37, Now #2
Right Lane: Kris Hool Runs 5.598/261.62, Now #1
Hool showed his heels to the field with a nice run, maybe not as straight as he would like, but not bad for a Funny Car. Pomponio was right with Hool for about 330 feet, then started losing ground, his car visibly wagging its tail.

Right Lane: Mickey Ferro Runs 5.754/251.95, Now #4
Both these drivers had good years in 2012, Veney #1 in Division 1 and Ferro #3 nationally.
Veney matched Hool's ET, but Hool was a couple mph faster and stays #1
