5 Vincent Nobile 25 Jeg Coughlin
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.000 6.589 211.10 0.017 6.624 210.83
 Qualified: #8 6.562 211.00 #9 6.571 210.41
12:26 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 29.12 inches, adjusted altitude 1,693 feet, track temperature 86 degrees.

Nobile and Coughlin are 1-1 in prior events. Nobile's win came in their only round one faceoff, at the first Las Vegas event this year. Nobile has been first off the line both times these two "leavers" have faced each other, with double-oh lights both times.

Nobile was once again first off the line, with a perfect light, but his car made a big move toward the centerline. He handled it smoothly, got back to the groove, and steadily pulled away for the win.

Vincent Nobile's incremental margins: 60ft(0.021), 330 ft(0.031), 660ft(0.041), 1,000ft(0.049). MOV: 0.0524 seconds (approximately 16 feet).

10 Ron Krisher 208 Warren Johnson
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.051 6.535 211.79 0.079 9.887 95.22
 Qualified: #7 6.559 210.90 #10 6.571 209.59
WJ holds a 17-7 record against Krisher in prior events, 9-6 in round one.

Both cars made big moves on the launch. Johnson did not recover, Krisher did, ran his best ET of the event.

6 Erica Enders 9 Shane Gray
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.020 6.517 212.26 0.043 11.826 75.25
 Qualified: #5 6.549 211.83 #12 6.573 210.05
Enders holds a 6-2 edge against Gray in prior events, 6-1 in round one.

Gray shook and went to the right on the launch. Enders went straight down the groove with the smoothest run yet in the left lane, and the best ET, also her best of the event.

   55 V. Gaines 700 Jerry Eckman
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.018 6.586 211.76 0.052 6.617 208.33
 Qualified: #4 6.544 211.49 #13 6.588 209.52
Eckman won the only other time these two faced each other, in round one at Phoenix in 1997.

Gaines had a big holeshot and Eckman never got out in front of him.

V. Gaines' incremental margins: 60ft(0.039), 330 ft(0.025), 660ft(0.042), 1,000ft(0.054). MOV: 0.0658 seconds (approximately 20 feet).

He faces Enders next round, she has lane choice.

3 Greg Anderson 13 Larry Morgan

4 Allen Johnson 7 Greg Stanfield
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.040 6.513 212.76 0.024 6.564 210.77
 Qualified: #2 6.518 211.99 #15 6.589 209.20
2012 champion Johnson is 18-9 against Stanfield in prior events, 11-4 in round one.

Stanfield got off the line first and led for about 500 feet, but AHJ made the quickest run of the event and won by half a car length.

Allen Johnson's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.017), 330 ft(-0.008), 660ft(0.009), 1,000ft(0.023). MOV: 0.0355 seconds (approximately 11 feet).

1 Jason Line 8 Rodger Brogdon
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.009 6.513 213.06 0.046 6.544 210.67

4264 Chris McGaha 2 Mike Edwards
E1 0.041 6.541 211.30 ****WINNER**** 0.025 6.530 212.79
 Qualified: #6 6.557 210.50 #11 6.572 211.79
