LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division, Short Line Express Gambler Shootout at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.829/198.12/-0.611, Now #4; B/DA Index: 7.44, Prior Best: 6.841/196.93/-0.599, Was #5
Right Lane: Clint Neff Runs 8.385/120.25/-0.035, Now #2; K/A Index: 8.42, Prior Best: 7.789/163.02/-0.631, Was #2

Nice pass by Hartford to move into the top four.

Much better leave by Fitzpatrick, but the little Toyota slows on the top end.

Giroux finds a little ET to move three spots up the ladder.

Cocuzza car rolls thought the light and he gives it up early.

Good clean pass for Maris and he moves all the way up to the top sixteen.

Huge move towards the wall by Moscini. He jerks the front end back and runs on down the track for a while.

No joy for Ellis.

Smiley gets a strong leave and snakes on down the track. He clicks it early.

Kent is done early too.

Nice looking pass for Graham and he finds some power to move into the top half of the field.

Wilson slows on the top end.

Hedlung's car is a little darty [Is that a word?] off the line and give it up early.

DePalma puts another nail in the coffin with a huge pass, almost into the seventy under territory.

Mike DePalma's incremental times: 60ft-1.244 sec., 330ft-3.677, 660ft-5.729/119.15 mph, 1,000ft-7.521.

Rampy makes another strong pass, but doesn't improve.

Strong did a little tune up and moves into the top half of the field.

It's Edwards turn to move up into the top half of the field and he does so.

Jones run is off the pace.

Lane's Cobalt moves hard toward the tree at the green and he has to work to get it back in the groove. He lifts right after that.

Forrester continues to improve and moves up a spot to the number six spot.

Lamb's car is still off the pace and is only able to move up to the #19 spot.

Hogan slows just a little.

Butner's car move towards the wall at the green and it costs him some ET.

Thomas may have spun the tires at the green, as the car is lazy off the line. He quickly gives it up.

6:02 p.m. DePalma is number one at -0.690 under his index. Field not filled, no bump spot.
